Flynn's crime was that he failed to register as a foreign agent. If you look at the historical convictions under this law, unless the foreign entity was a target of an active war (Iraqi intelligence) or attempting to murder targets in the US (Cuban 5) the most you could expect was a fine and close surveillance of your activities for the next few years. Flynn wasn't even convicted on the nature of any alleged lobbying activities on behalf of Russia entities. He was convicted for failing to disclose that he had these contacts when questioned by the FBI. He's looking at a fine and that's pretty much it. I like how fakenewsCNN is spinning this as yet another impending "Drumpf is finished hurrrrr" piece.
