Direct Democracy is the only way.
Direct Democracy is the only way
that's the shittest flag I ever did see.
I guess a direct democracy would create better symbolism, if one ever exists again. and fuck you switzerland for changing your traditions.
>Direct Democracy is the only way.
To die, have the wolves vote on what sheep to eat? Did you learn nothing in self government?
Only if IQ tests are required.
a person in a wheelchair could have a high IQ but still cause inconvenience in the lives of millions.
Do away with politicians and I agree with you, for too long these self serving bastards have stolen from us.
There is a great change coming , I feel it in the air.
yeah i once had to walk up a ramp
Cacogenics should be criminalised in this country not celebrated.
I believe in direct democracy too, but there needs to be a really fucking watertight constitution in place that guarantees some inalienable ground rules.
You should go back to a monarchy.
Dictatorship is
Representative democracy sucks. Always has and always will.
>ground rules
like what
>like what
Hard limits on immigration, speech and gun rights, how voting is supposed to be organized, and how the country is to be governed.
Probably a good idea to mandate that the armed forces are to have minimal percentage of GDP in funding which the people has minimal ability to directly affect what they do with. So there's still an army in a time of hippies I mean.
Semi-direct maybe. What we see in Rousseau's works (I mostly look at his theory (Social Contract) and his practice (Constitution of Poland)), we see that he despises representatives for becoming a new aristocratic class that's prone to bribery (based on actually observing what happened in England rather than waking off his hosts like Voltaire did), but understands they're a necessity. Him being Swiss, it's not odd that the Swiss based their model on his. Representatives do the day-to-day governance because direct democracy simply does not work. However, the Swiss people can, at any given moment, demand responsibility from the government and call any of their laws into question.
Not sure how that part about the French Revolution is going to continue or wht book that even is, but I think it underestimates how much it contributed to creating the idea of nationalism. France was invented first, "the French" had to be forcibly created for France to work. We saw the beginnings of it under Napoleon's Lycée system (which had the intention of creating patriotic Frenchmen) and saw its apex under the Jules Ferry Laws: education was "free" and obligatory, but only offered in French and none of the regional languages. Sometimes immigration (from Italy, Spain, Germany, Eastern Europe) was strategically employed to break apart regional identities and replace them with the French identity, which these migrants were more likely to conform to over time.
This precedent really makes you reconsider why the EU loves third world migration so much, eh?
The tiny little party "Direktdemokraterna" here suggest a system where anyone can select a personal voting representative who votes "for you" transparently. You also have the ability to override your representative on any vote you wish. I think that's not a terrible idea to have a high direct-to-indirect ratio of governance while avoiding voter fatigue.

That's fucking retarded though. Representatives do acquire aristocratic tendencies precisely because they should have specialized knowledge that the commoners generally can't be bothered to acquire. The Swiss model works not because it gets citizens involved in the decision making itself, but it allows them to pull an "emergency break", so to say. Look at what happened in France with the yellow jackets. I despise them and think they're retards, but if France worked like Switzerland then they could simply call for a referendum rather than resorting to smashing up their own fucking cultural heritage.
Only 135+ iq allowed to vote. But that wont happen so fuck all democracy
what is democracy I never had that
Responsibility matters more than intelligence. Rather than having an IQ test, I'd say weed out the leeches: only net taxpayers get to vote for parliament, only conscripts get to vote for the president.
Alright, quick poll: Should the OP be killed yes or no?
Incorrect. Absolute monarchy is the only way.
The only way we can regain freedom and a fair society is if we violently destroy the 1% at the top of the pyramid scheme that is the financial system.
We MUST kill the central banks.
melanchouille please
This need to be a new memeflag
Switzerland is the model of how any European country should be.
I don't fully agree. While their system does A LOT of good, it suffers from a big problem our country suffers from as well: there's no distinction between the executive and legislative branches. The ideal country would be like Switzerland but with a directly elected president. Perhaps they can keep their "prime minister" (or whatever the Swiss call it) as an intermediary like in the French system (pic related), I think that's pretty neat.
Also, their conscription model is completely hypocritical
>Men get universal suffrage but also universal conscription (barring justified reasons like a physical handicap)
>Women get universal suffrage but can volunteer for "conscription"
>Women are allowed to meet radically lower physical standards than men for their "conscription"
I'd be more for an opt-in conscription system based on egalitarian principles. The military defines universal standards and you either pass or fail (luckily the US military did that recently... though expect feminists to whine about this soon). If you serve, you vote. If you choose not to serve, enjoy being a passive citizen.
