The migration compact could well be a method to trap the public attention, while all countries except for the US still accept the less publicized compact on refugees.
It too contains some super general migration enabling statements, such as the recognition of "global warming" as a legitimate reason to get asylum.

It won't matter being an EU member, Germany have auto accepted it and already planning on bringing in 3million pakistanis before 2030 ontop of whatever the UN decide.
