I don't really know of anywhere to shoot other than my grandpas house but also, what kind of gun should I buy if I want to get into firearms? My favorite gun to shoot is the G3, but I really like the idea of owning a classic bolt action as my first firearm, such as the K31!

If you want a K31, id get one soon. They’re drying up and the prices are skyrocketing. The ammo is also hard to find and expensive. I would reccomend a cheap .22 rifle, like a ruger 10/22 as your first gun. Your overall investment will be low, so if it turns out it’s not something you’re really into, you’ll only be out $250.
As to your OP, idk why you’d ask that. I own around 25 guns and I’m not an NRA member. They do a lot of good work keeping the regressive Communists at bay, but they also suck the Dick’s of American gun manufacturers, and don’t really fight for imports. They also don’t take on some of the biggest infractions of the constitution. They aren’t the best group out there; many say the GOA is much better, but the NRA is the biggest and therefor the most powerful

just get a budget AR like an m&p 15 or a ruger 556

I own multiple k31s. My favorite boot action rifle right up there with Swedish m96.
Expect to pay $800 for a nice k31 these days, more so if it has a troop tag under butt stock.
Gp11 ammo has been impossible to find for the last 10 months. New production Swiss 7.5mm is obtainable but more expensive and less accurate than gp11.

Joing GOA, SAF, FPC and/or your state/local that is doing a far better job of fighting for your Constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms (should you choose to get one or more). Our founders held the need for defense of self and country so high that they placed it second only to the freedom of speech/religion/assembly/press.
