Well after the sun fused its fuel (hydrogen) into helium the nuclear reaction in its core will stop. This will cause the sun to collapse, when this happens it will compress the hydrogen in the outer layers of the sun and start up fusion there. This causes it to expand. I guess we die here, it will give some kind of flash of hard radiation. Then when it contracts again, it will begin to fuse helium, expanding even more. The sun becomes a red giant, swallowing half the solar system.

Oh and after the second contraction, it will cause another flash, which certainly will kill us.
