Basic facts reg. US oil industry:
We have massive refining facilities in the gulf, which were built for heavier oils than the average (high) quality shale oil; we will still use those refining facilities on crap that gets gets sent down by pipe from Canada (no thanks to Obama on the pipeline!) or that comes here by tanker from around the world.
At the same time we will be exporting crude shale oil which is easier to refine, refining some of it ourselves, and also selling massive amounts of natural gas which is essentially a free by-product of fracking. We are guaranteed worlds cheapest energy for the next couple decades and pretty much guaranteed independence for my lifetime what a change from picture 20 years back. Why setup shop anywhere else, as robotics flourishes it will be a wonder to see the re-industrialization of the U.S.
