Tennessean here, so I’m biased. Nashville is definitely a contender, growing economy and nice midsized city. Currently living in Chattanooga, which is also nice, cheaper cost of living and lots of scenic mountains and national park spaces. Both of those cities have a lower RPC (redneck per capita) than Kentucky or the Carolinas, less minorities than Atlanta or Charlotte, less backward then Cajun country & less whackos and northern exports in Florida. Also, avoid Memphis. It’s one of the worst cities in America, currently second to only Detroit as murder inc.
