Atheism is simply pic related. A lack of belief in the existence of gods. They don't believe the stories written in religious scriptures nor to they believe the workings of the cosmos are controlled by anything sentient. They simply do not believe any of that.
But then you have "Scienceists" and "Factists" who place their favorite source of evidence on a pedestal of authority as high as the God of the people they seethingly despise. Yes just a God, specifically Christianity's God. Rarely will you ever see an "atheist" go out of their way to debunk Pagans or Buddhists or Shamans. But this is simply due to Christianity being the most popular religion in the world and therefore is the one that's most often active in human society... right? Not really.
These people HATE Christianity and it's members because they are simply anti-christian, not even irreligious. >ir·re·li·gious >/ˌi(r)rəˈlijəs/ >indifferent or hostile to religion And there is a difference. Being irreligious does not have requirements on belief. You can believe a Christian God exists (even subconsciously) and still hate the religion, which is what these people do in practice despite their constant proclamations that they hate all religions.
Even worse, they use facts and logic solely as a means to enhance the image of their argument regardless of how cherrypicked the facts are or how often they've lied by omission. Anyone who pays attention to their arguments will see far more ethos (appeal to authority) and pathos (emotions) rather than logos (logic). And here is why: their goal is to destroy. It's not about practically solving a problem or finding a viable alternative to ease religious people into a more LOGICAL. In their mind, Christianity needs to die because Christians are retards and jews (or whatever). But in the end, their argument boils down to: >Christianity needs to be exactly like Islam or its make believe. >Christianity is jewish and niggered. And I hate jews and nigger penis because they live in my head rent free.
Meanwhile, an atheist who prizes facts and truth wouldn't mind others' beliefs, so long as said beliefs are not forced onto others. An atheist would more likely consider the beneficial effects of a religion-based code of ethics on society. These are logical trains of thought that make use of critical thinking rather than critical bitching.
> tl;dr (((Atheists))) are fat fruit-fucking fedoraniggers and only attack Christianity because God took their penis. Discuss.
>But then you have "Scienceists" and "Factists" who place their favorite source of evidence on a pedestal of authority as high as the God of the people they seethingly despise As high as the God? I dont know what that means. If atheists dont believe in a God, it wouldnt be on a pedestal. And it wouldnt be on a pedestal near any sort of evidence. >Yes just a God, specifically Christianity's God. Mostly? sure. How often does it pop up in discussion over other religions, though? >These people HATE Christianity and it's members because they are simply anti-christian False, they're atheists. Youve already established this yourself. >You can believe a Christian God exists (even subconsciously) and still hate the religion, which is what these people do in practice Atheists dont believe in a God. Again, you've already established this. >Even worse, they use facts and logic solely as a means to enhance the image of their argument regardless of how cherrypicked the facts are or how often they've lied by omission [Citation needed] this sounds like a blind assertion to me. But feel free to prove me wrong. >And here is why: their goal is to destroy Now you're just attempting at some baseless character assassination amongst a whole group, because you blindly believe this. I agree with this.
Jaxon Walker
Also those fendora tippers go after Christianity because it's the least likely to allah akubar people that speak out against it and they don't have to worry about being labeled anti-semetic either.
Dominic Powell
You are trying to conflate the two groups I've separated in the original post. Just saying.
Grayson Diaz
How would you know if I'm trying to? Because I'm genuinely not. I'm trying to explain to you why I think you're wrong.
Joseph Allen
I don't think there's many atheists on Jow Forums anyway, so not like it matters.
Brandon Sanders
Polls on religion here lean overwhelmingly Abrahamic over atheism. OP not only denies God, he thinks everyone is like him.
Charles James
You did though. >False, they're atheists. Youve already established this yourself. >Atheists dont believe in a God. Again, you've already established this. The group I was talking about in the first 3/4ths of the OP are the larpers and edgelords. The only thing you agreed with were the REAL atheists. I thought I was careful when I made that distinction.
David Stewart

>the people they seethingly despise Ever wonder why? How about this example, you simpletons can't go 5 minutes without having to shill your sandnigger deity. Or how people that are as dumb as religitards have the balls to be so smug to the rest of us. Or how you invite yourselves to places you are not welcomed. Or that you are kiddie fuckers. Or that you are the biggest hypocrites and liars that I have ever encountered. Or that you are basically leftist-tier sheep. I have more if you need help.
Aaron Flores
If your original argument is "a large majority of atheists on pol are largely not atheistic" then in your argument I have to assume the people you are talking about lack belief in a God as their primary point for the discussion. But it doesnt matter if they're assholes or hate anything, because if they lack belief in a god they're atheist.
IMO, USA Atheists give Christianity focus because they probably were exposed to it first hand. Other worldly religions aren't as common here, and thus get less attention. I'm sure Atheists in Iran may offer anecdotes about how silly Islam seems to them for a similar reason. If they weren't getting their head chopped off.
Mason Nelson
You can say one thing and do another. Those who truly do not believe in something does not let that something bother them. Nothing has no value.
Aaron Ortiz
I'm not an expert on kiddie fucking. So excuse me. But there is an awful amount of "godly" people in the news fucking little boys.
Lucas Evans
>nothing has no value haha
but people who believe the "nothing" can kill you... so it turns out it matters.
Leo Jones
Atheist, irreligious, they all end up in the same place.
Jason Scott
>watching the news There is your problem. The news nowadays is propagandized. Try looking for instances of pedophilia you don't easily hear about and you will find some. Everyone has the capacity to kill, whether its in defense or not. What are you even trying to say?
Gabriel Cruz
>Those who truly do not believe in something does not let that something bother them Being angry doesnt make you not an atheist. There arent conditions required to be an atheist, only the lack of belief in a God.
Jaxson James
Atheism is just a reactionary form of Christianity anyway
Luis Turner
op sounds like a raging faggot
Colton Morgan
I read the news, but ok, keep thinking you have me in a box. You guys are kiddie fuckers, don't worry, the leftists will legalize it soon.
Jacob Butler
Not him, but do you agree that specifically priests pedophiles are bad?
James Mitchell
Reading the news is pretty much the same shit as watching it.
Specifically, yeah. I believe all pedophiles are bad. Pedophilia in general ruins children, making them more likely to be nymphomaniacs as they grow older.
Ian Butler
This was almost a very good OP but this: >> tl;dr (((Atheists))) are fat fruit-fucking fedoraniggers and only attack Christianity because God took their penis. Discuss. Is a non sequitur. Otherwise I totally agree with you, as I thought myself into atheism in my late teens, but all it did was make me sad for my family. I still loved Christianity. And I still do. But I don't think it's good for our people. I consider it bastardized from its inception.
Kayden Adams
Preach it.
We all end up dead, regardless of religion, creed, morality, or race. The only real question is if you will be 90% alcohol, failing to rot in a hole in the ground, or if you will char into a nice soft powder. It truly is amazing that people believe in heaven.
Jose Martin
He's trying to establish that the stereotypical fedora fag is a different breed of atheist. I tend to agree with that.
Grayson Kelly
I have noticed atheists tend to cluster into two general groups: A. lack belief B. disbelieve
A. Do not believe for intellectual reasons (lack of evidence for example) B. Do not believe for emotional reasons ("there are starving people boo hoo" for example)
A. Do not criticize Christianity in particular B. Criticize Christianity in particular
A. Are not exceptionally outspoken about/do not find their atheism to be at the forefront of their mind B. Are constantly thinking/talking about atheism
I have been an "A-type" atheist for about half my life. I can tell you that I probably hate the "B-types" more than the average theist hates them.
Gavin Thomas
Not true. Atheism is the baseline state of mind. Every child is an atheist, which is why them must be converted at a young age.
>Everyone has the capacity to kill, whether its in defense or not. What are you even trying to say? Yea exactly.
What I'm saying is that we are living in a society. And that means somebody else's beliefs have an effect on my life. They have an effect on the country i'm living in.
And so, they matter... It's not "nothing". If people genuinely believe in the boogieman, that has consequences on my life even though no such boogieman exists.
Cooper Garcia
I agree. Pedophilia is the one thing on my list where I'd be fine in being the executioner if it somehow became a social event/punishment.
Christian Kelly
Apparently, it's all fake news.
Gabriel Sanchez
The issue is that, I'd he doesnt believe a God exists it doesnt matter what type of meme or retard he is. You can lack belief because you're just too lazy to read the book. But they dont change just because they get upset at some point.
Sebastian Russell
Sorry to disappoint, user. I did that because I knew some asshat would eventually come in and tl;dr op fagit lol like
Nathaniel Lewis
Especially christian pedophiles, right?
Nicholas King
Also I forgot to mention that I 100% believe in some kind of higher power. But I can't pretend to know whether Jesus was the Son of God, based on the evidence I have at my disposal. But I know the laws of nature intimately, and I feel God when I'm surrounded by it. Live your life according to the laws that God made and you'll be alright.
Parker Gutierrez
>just too lazy to read the book When was the book written? By whom?
Ian Turner
From what I remember reading, it was a collection of writings from different authors that were chosen by Constantine to form what we call the bible today.
Sebastian Bell
Whatever broken reason there is for it, they're all the same type of shitty human being. What I dont appreciate about priest pedos is that they have been known to get moved around to other churches, instead of them being handled appropriately by society.
Daniel Russell
>What I dont appreciate about priest pedos is that they have been known to get moved around to other churches, instead of them being handled appropriately by society. How did you learn this information?
Robert Torres
It used to happen quite frequently, I forgot where I read about it though. I can look for a source.
Nathan Sullivan
Chosen because they could read and write. It;s that simple. When was it written? Why was it printed 100 years after the printing press was invented if it was so important?
Luke Morgan
So when I say I read it, I'm a sheep. But when you guys say you read it, it's ok? Goes back to my short list of examples of why christians are hated by atheists.
Dominic Davis
Atheist here
The reason I'm an atheist is because I'm not an idiot
Around 325AD. Look up the first counsel of nicaea.
Zachary Ortiz
Sure you are Mohummad.
Jace Martinez
So 325 years after the fact. Got it.
Jacob Hughes
>ad hominem because you don't have an argument Typical Christcuck
Brody Butler
I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic. My original point was, you could be an atheist and be too lazy to read any religious book, but as long as the primary point of lack of belief in a God claim remains it doesnt matter what else you believe or do. As long as it doesnt contradict their atheism.
Dylan Parker
Atheism should not be a word. It's simply not being a theist, no claims attached to it. It does not address belief or knowledge, it's simply being the opposite of a theist.
Elijah Reed
>I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic I don't expect you to know.
Jace Perez
Why wouldnt you want a word to be able to describe something specific?
Adrian Taylor
Do you?
Ethan Gutierrez
> Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
If faith in God can "truly... move mountains", and God has been answering prayers for at least 2,000 years, then how is it possible that there would be no physical evidence? If God only answers prayers that don't leave behind physical evidence, then that's SUSPICIOUSLY similar to a God that doesn't exist, isn't it? So my rather simple question for you is: where's the evidence?
>These people HATE Christianity and it's members because they are simply anti-christian
No. Not at all. What is it that Christians love to say? "Hate the sin, love the sinner."
I don't hate Christians, or any other religious believers for that matter. But I DO hate what I see organized religion doing to people. Religion makes so many of them hateful, bigoted, judgmental, arrogant and close minded. I don't like what religion DOES to people.
Josiah Gonzalez
Which is...? Are you atheist?
Charles Parker
B bu but not all Christians!
Now go to church & ask Yahweh for forgiveness.
Mason Reed
Atheist here. I think some people need religion and almost everyone I know is Christian and good people. I generally agree with Christian values even though I think some of the egalitarian and passive garbage is blue pilled and the entire thing is myth. Sorry half of poll seems butt hurt that atheists exist.
Nathan Adams
I dont think any theists made any claims about a God existing. Why is this relevant?
Ryan Stewart
At least OP can define atheism. That's gotta count for something.
David Collins
Is the act of not playing piano worthy of a word? An apianist perhaps? No. There are thousands and thousands of things I am not, no words are needed for anyone of those, yet for the lack of theism, a word was created.
Brandon Parker
related pasta
>used to be atheist >was the best at debating >could defeat any point >dream of logical utopia free of religion >realize two things >people are stupid >and people suck >accept that religion will be around forever >realize that the values instilled by christianity are worth the superstitious bs >realize a lot of people don't even believe the superstitious parts anyway >realise people on average are too scatter minded to act good without a Santa figure in place.
That doesn't mean I give up in humanity and it's ability to improve their superstition or downright replace it with common sense. I do believe that religion itself has evolved, from primitive animal spirits, to pantheons of half human half animal gods, to angry sun gods and finally a initially wrathful god now turned his 2.0 form that's a bit more suitable for our times. I look forward to seeing where it goes, but am also aware how we are the molders of religion. Aware of how it always happens to fit our surroundings instead of being a permanent true vision. We love making sense of things, being real with ourselves and questioning our existence, and I find that trait, usually reserved for philosophy and religion, has become a key trait of the sciences. And I for one look up to inquisitive minds, may they be of religious or scientific origin.
Aaron Ramirez
Because its referenced enough to where people thought it would make more sense to define a thing in reality?
Nathaniel Gutierrez
How is "not being something" something? I'm not a biologist... am I an abiologist?
Landon Rodriguez
Because if it's nothing we wouldn't be discussing it, nor be aware of it. And it wouldnt be able to be invoked/spoken of, otherwise it becomes a something. >I'm not a biologist... am I an abiologist? I mean, if you want to be? Words arent prescriptive, so as long as the other person knows what you mean it doesnt really matter.
Robert Bennett
all catholics and other false sheperds
Nicholas Powell
What people call atheism today is more on the line of anti-theism. They are militant opponents of religions, Dawkins for example. Everyone is born not a theist.
Jackson Rivera
>they weren't real christkikes Of course! They never are. Why didn't I remember that?!
Brandon Taylor
Atheism. No faith required. Learn everything from observation of the world/universe about you. Simple.
Christopher Hernandez
I wouldn't say militant. But I would like them to stfu and churches to pay taxes.
Jordan Price
Depends on their definitions and what they actually believe. I'm sure people like Dawkins could definitely be seen as antitheist.
Alexander Cox
>...churches to pay taxes I definitely agree with this.
Samuel Nguyen
Yeah, we know this. Atheism being a jewish trick pushed on europeans and only europeans is pretty common knowledge bro.
Atheists won't admit it and make staunch rebuttals to why they aren't simpky just anti-Christians but deep down they know it as well.
Carter Baker
>Yeah, we know this I'm pretty sure op conceded. >Atheism being a jewish trick pushed on europeans and only europeans is pretty common knowledge bro. Great, then you can give us a source for your claim. >Atheists won't admit it and make staunch rebuttals to why they aren't simpky just anti-Christians but deep down they know it as well. You were better off here just admitting you were going to play hide the ball and make assertions of what is very clearly your opinion.
Parker James
Can you desperate fucks just kill yourselves already? You lost this debate at least 5 years ago yet you keep screeching and foaming from your mouth when everyone else has already moved on. You are incapable of accepting that some people are no religious in any way nor subscribe to any higher authority, be that scientists or Gods. The scientific method isn't perfect and there have been many recent blunders in psychology to prove that because psychology is pseudo science. You retarded foam-mouthed believers would never be able to make such a concession about your God. Please just kill yourselves and your sorry asses, it is just said to you keep clawing at nothing.
Christianity/Catholicism is the kike trick, imagine being this far off. Worship the crucified kike, worship the kikes.
Jeremiah Morris
Atheism is a branch of Judaism just like Christianity and Islam.
Justin Sullivan
>Atheism is a branch of Judaism You trolled too hard, guy
Bentley Young
>But then you have "Scienceists" and "Factists" No, you really don't.
>source of evidence on a pedestal of authority Atheists simply fail to believe in gods, They don't ascribe to any particular math or science. Cognitively-impaired theists only imagine they do as a red herring fallacy that invariably suits the dishonest religious narrative.
>Rarely will you ever see an "atheist" go out of their way to debunk Pagans or Buddhists or Shamans. Rarely do you see the "Pagans or Buddhists or Shamans" forcing women to forgo their own health care coverage for birth control or demand that shit-tier creation tales be taught as {{{ science }}} lessons.
>Christianity being the most popular religion Like Judaism before and Islam any day now. All the Abrahamic religions are cancers on society.
>These people HATE Christianity Not at all, but we do get a good chuckle at all the Hebrew lies you fell for.
>their constant proclamations that they hate all religions. To be fair, the beliebers are ass-raping children and beheading innocent people to please their gods. We hat the fuck out of them and that
Or I just don’t believe any of it. It doesn’t make sense to me. >inb4 Big Bang theory Yeah that doesn’t make a ton of sense either but that doesn’t mean it’s a god or gods. All sounds way too far fetched. I fall into the definition perfectly. I don’t believe there is no god I just don’t believe in God(s).
Ian Garcia
Still waiting.
Angel Gray
God damn, you pulled up a google definition of atheism and have the audacity to assert that's the true meaning of atheism? I don't suppose you get all your information from the internet, do you? Regardless, atheism can be categorized in several different ways, but the two most important types of atheism are negative atheism and positive atheism. Negative atheism is the default position one should take in regards to religious beliefs. It is of course the person who is making the claims to prove what they are purporting to be true, all negative atheist need to do is find the fallacies in your arguments, which there are many. The other type of atheism is positive atheism which I believe is the next logical step to take. Religious belief causes people to be limited in an unintelligible manner. Limited intellectually, socially, scientifically, politically, etc. Because certain things come in conflict with their doctrine. The atheist on the other hand has no limitations which implies two things. 1: The true atheist experiences existential dread, and 2: The true atheist is amoral. Now this does not mean that the atheist is evil, it simply means the atheist does not view certain actions as having absolute consequences, such as abortion. Abortion is commonly condemned by religious people as being immoral and evil because it kills a human life. Yes, the act of abortion takes the life of a human fetus, but it is a beneficial action in some circumstances. The atheist will have no problem in removing potential burdens on society. Now knowing that certain actions are only allowed by people without belief in god's or spiritual notions it follows that the best thing to do is to be a positive atheist and be aggressive in asserting that there is no god. The reason being is that the only thing that matters is our continued existence and improvements to our existence. The religious person does not care about our continued existence, cont.
Jackson Collins
they desire that the earthly be destroyed so that a perfect age will come into being and everything wrong with reality is only ephemeral. This is a pusillanimous belief to hold and should be eliminated if we care at all about not being lost in the void, which will without a doubt come in a short time. Simply put, beneficial actions are the most important thing to the atheist, and positive atheism destroys any belief in gods, spirits, or an after life. Atheism will be the belief that will allow us to transcend the terrestrial. Religion will keep us low until the sun consumes the earth that the religious person will without a doubt rejoice in witnessing.
