most people throughout britain (even the south-east, where germanic ancestry is highest) are pre-anglo-saxon and pre-viking stock. the anglos were of course extremely important culturally.

Liverpool isn't too far from Ireland, who are Celtic. A lot of Irish influence in Liverpool. The guy's saying his family weren't originally from the area, hence why they're Germanic and not Celtic as they likely would have been had they originated there.

similar story with some of my mum's people, came up from northeast england into strathclyde with all of their things in a barrow, and their descendants have been here ever since.
True,but Britons lived in east Britain,before 600s,I don't believe they all got pushed western.Their influence in east is noticably smaller,but I doubt it doesn't exist.Of course less than compared to area close to Ireland and Wales.

Funny enough Scouse comes from a Norwegian Viking dish which the people of Liverpool used to eat and it became tradition because it’s really easy to make, can be stored and is very nice. So the name scouse just stock with us.
