The CTMU is basically just a claim that all of reality is perception and in order for it to exist, there must be a being doing the perceiving (God). This is hard for most people to grasp because he hides this in incredibly convoluted language where he invents and uses dozens of new terms that are designed only to obfuscate his sophistry.

Quantum theory indicates that perception of an object may affect it. Any argument he makes will ultimately be metaphysical like old school philosophers, but it would still be rather interesting.

As far as I know, the only way to "perceive" anything is it quite literally interact with it. Anything on the quantum level is effected by such interactions (though there could be more to it that I'm not aware of).

I'm not agreeing that the CTMU is sophistry (I'm keeping an open mind), but why do you think he is trying to manipulate people in this way? He is clearly intelligent, and if he really wanted, he could be a millionaire. If he is so deceitful, why wouldn't he become a banker/lawyer/doctor etc. ?

You'd have to ask him. But if I had to just guess right now, I'd go with something along these lines: he knows that people need God (or rather the belief in God). He's pretty based and sees the degeneration of society and he knows the belief in God played an important factor in keeping us together. So he invented a system to try and "prove" God's existence, in a time where the New Atheist mantra is "you can't prove God, faith is stupid."

When you're smart and off to the side from the normies, you come up with some crazy shit at times, that often has logical backing, but no real-world support.
Maybe that some people cannot sense certain things, they're blinded to reality. You can only understand what your brain is capable of after all.

Mr.Langan seems to be the real deal, if for no other reason than because he's focused on his physical health as well as distancing himself from the population at large, which are both highly intelligent choices that are mocked by the so-called educated elites.

What I like about Chris Langan is, he's got the ego needed to push logical reality to the front. He's got balls to go with the brains, and this is important. I have balls too, but I can't afford trying to voice my opinion. And I'm not even anywhere near Chris' intelligence.

In my opinion it seems that he tries to reconcile old metaphysical concepts like a collective unconscious and the effect of perception ala Soren Kierkegaard with our current mathematical understanding of the universe, especially with how perception affects things in Quantum Theory.

I don't agree. We know the decay has been happening since long before we were able to observe it, because we know the effects it has: keeping the Earth's mantle and core hot enough for it generate the magnetic field required to allow life to exist on the surface, and for us to evolve the ability to build the machines to measure radioactive decay in the first place. We exist because of the decay (among many other factors), the decay does not exist because of our observations.
The idea that nothing exists unless it's observed is a misinterpretation of phenomenon existing on scales we didn't evolve to intuitively understand.

Langan has mentioned on numerous occasions how humanity is likely going to self-destruct, and that we may in fact be beyond the point of no return. He refers to this as the "global wipe". And as for the "culling" aspect of human existence, he supports eugenics, so he is aware that natural selection is pretty much gone.

Imagine Minecraft. If you plant wheat, it takes say 48 minutes to fully grow. If you walk away that timer is still ticking, it is still technically growing, except it isn’t. It is not being rendered. Simulation theory posited by people like Elon Musk suggests it is a possibility. The way time slows down around a black hole is like lag when a tnt explosion is too big in Minecraft. That time and space are connected with mass suggests that rendering so much at once may slow the simulation down. That there is a fixed maximum speed of light is strange, like it has a programmed value that won’t let you see to much at once. Isn’t it also strange how the sun and moon are the exact same size in the sky, what a coincidence considering how different they are in size.

This is pretty out there but it is interesting to think about.
