don't they already have a problem with rising house prices?

And the cost of california homes skyrocket. As if SF and LA don't have enough homeless people, more will just move to Texas/Florida for no income tax and shit up those states too.

Can anyone more informed tell me, it seems like with all their socialist authoritarian BS, California should be really struggling financially.
Is that the case? Are they buoyed by Hollywood being there or something?

California officially becomes the dumbest cunts in the world. Solar is less efficient and dirtier than oil anyway. More heavy metals and mutant children for everyone yay!

>tfw no comfy solar home in cali

Why live

California is single didget years from insolvency.

guess tweekers have good shit to steal now,

or it'll just catch more shit on fire lol

As if there wasnt already a problem with california homes being too expensive, now they have to include overpriced inefficient panels that become toxic waste in 20 years

As much as California is retarded, slapping $10k worth of solar panels on the roof of a new home worth $500k makes too much sense. It also prolongs the life of the roof, makes the energy grid more efficient and stable.

California government is actually quite fiscally sound and has a tax surplus. They're citizens are doing very poorly, however

CA fag here. This place was way nicer before illegals took it over. CA is divided between tech/entertainment money and everyone else. Its struggling under the weight of all the illegals and homeless

I've got solar panels on my house, it's a scam. The cost of buying them, installing them, modifying the house to support them then continued maintenance costs are so fucking high that the amount of energy they generate will never pay it's self off.
Luckily I didn't pay anything for them (government scheme bought them for me) because otherwise I'd be pissed. I think on a sunny day I save about 30p on my electricity bill (40c or so) but most of the time it's half of that or less, especially in winter.

They're not even environmentally friendly either because of the amount of shit needed to make them.

It's like they're trying to get rid of their population.

>$30,000 increase on a $10 million dollar average house
>hurr the cost of california homes skyrocket

At the time of this writing, the installed cost of solar panels was between $7-$9 per watt: A 5 kW system would cost around $25,000-$35,000. Many utility companies offer incentives, and some subsidize as much as 50% of system costs. Even at half the cost, though, a system that generates an average $75 of electricity per month could take a long time to pay for itself.

solarpowerauthority.com/how-much-does-it-cost-to-install-solar-on-an-average-us-house/

soo all those housesthat burned down cant be rebuilt unless they have solar?

In 2 years:

>Why is there a housing collapse in California?
>Why are construction companies fleeing the state?
>Why are California houses falling apart?

And the answer will be evil white men

Yes but people here are so retarded they can't put 2 and 2 together.

t. Cuckifornian

>guess tweekers have good shit to steal now,
>or it'll just catch more shit on fire lol

Good point. There's a lot of silver in those panels. This reminds me. Buy silver.

fpbp
Oh that's not a problem because they aren't building their new California for poor people

This user has it right. Big oil doesnt give a shit about renewables. The resources required to gather raw material, manufacture the panel, and than transport these products at each stage, will keep them happy. And before anyone starts trying to argue for bioplastics and electric vehicles, lifecycle analysis on those as well require the same resources.

Hell in order to produce the organic material for bioplastics we need modern hyper efficient agricultural practices to grow enough of it, which relies on petroleum based fertilizers.

I work in the power industry.
This is literally the opposite of what CA needs. They produce so much solar power during the day that it pushes electricity prices below zero during peak hours. In other words, this isn’t an investment - it’s a waste of money and will cost CA money not only for installation and maintenance, but the power produced will not save any money either.
There is already too much supply. Until economically feasible energy storage this is a massive waste.

those fucktards just voted in a gas tax, the same kind France is rioting over. Welcome to the Golden Cuck State.

>
>California government is actually quite fiscally sound and has a tax surplus. They're citizens are doing very poorly, however

Pension liabilities?

You're ignoring the truth.

>Be californian
>buy 20k$ worth of panels from China
>shipping alone emits more CO2 than using charcoal for a year
>save some money on power bills
>get the savings taxed so the poor can get their panels for free
>figure out you'll still break even in 10 years

>weely forest fires
>smoke blocks out the sun

The way they're "fixing" that is by legalizing tiny homes. My county just became the first one in the state to legalize them and I guess those are supposed to take off.

>first nation

de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erneuerbare-Energien-Wärmegesetz#Nutzungspflicht

Go check the forced taxes California charges if you have solar. California actually taxes you for what solar power you use, and its an insane amount.
So lets charge a tax for using it, them make it law that everyone must use it.
Fucking wonderful free state it is eh?

Attached: 1543590038989.jpg (640x692, 92K)

California has the highest energy costs in the country and is massive debt that will never be paid off. California should keep it up though.

California ranks top ten in the world for agriculture. Not too mention silicon valley, and Hollywood.

>California subsidizes China
no surprise

Consumer-grade solar panels are a meme though, their efficiency is something like 5%.
I've worked with some farmers who used better ones, the kind with actual effort put into them, 3-axis rotation to follow the sun and coatings to improve the amount of sunlight you transform, and those turn profitable eventually.

Good luck running a home in Ohio with solar panels in February.

Hollywood isn't shit. Ag, tech, shipping and manufacturing keeps this place going.

Gotta be fake, or this will crush Cali.
It’s not ready, and the government getting involved in something that should be fully open to an innovative and competitive market is a nightmare coming to fruition.

>being charged for collecting the suns energy.

An entirely jewish concept. Energy jews make a lot of money buying up power plants to raise prices on the goyim. It's exactly what happened here, Liberals sold Hydro One is American jews so now people from other countries own our power kek.

I guess it makes sense, parasites require a healthy host to sap and suck the vigor from. What a credit they might be to our nation otherwise.

Solar panels don't work well in smoke.

Repent Cali-fag.

>California government is actually quite fiscally sound and has a tax surplus
>Big oil
The tech boom may have changed this, but my understanding is California's oil and gas industry is so big that it will never learn it's lesson, so to speak. Meaning that the reserves that California sits on will always keep the state afloat, and it will never have a crash b/c all the government has to do is relax regulations just a bit and they become profitable again.

This, anyone that understands current solar technology is laughing their ass off at californians. They are going to get boned, hard.

Cali is top ten in a lot of things simply due to how many people live there. Per capita, they are much less impressive.

You think Big Oil doesn’t see the probability and potential of renewabkes in the future?
They ARE the energy game you fucking twit.

I expect half the panels to be junk in 5-10 years and nobody will replace them. The inverters will blow just as frequently

Also every extra bit of solar strains the non-solar users because of economies of scale. This will directly effect the energy prices of those using traditional energy, aka the poor. Just more California socialism creating a wider wealth gap.

If they wanted to do this right, California should have built solar plants on unusable land and sold the energy to the communities.

>implying big oil is worried about renewables
worst thing that has happened to muh big oil in the last 5 years is a vice documentary about a town with a population of 500 getting gas water from nearby fracking. it is literally nothnig

"First nation"

Fuck a wall with Mexico. We need one with California. Those faggots cause more trouble by a factor of 10.

Attached: theinfernalboomer.png (600x466, 415K)

solar doesn't replace oil
solar replaces coal and natural gas

there's a vast difference between
"hey, you know what's a good idea and makes sense?"
and
"thou shalt do this or else"

lol, no.
they've been abusing a tax loophole for years.
they're fucked.

L2R retard

The fallacy of inexpensive energy is that you will never make enough of it. If you could harness zero point energy people will still find some frivolous activity to waste it all on.

Attached: solarpanel.jpg (526x526, 114K)

Asa fellow Cali-fag im appalled at how earth shatteringly retarded our legislature is

You forgot to mention:
>Housing problem increased by a factor of 10
>Energy problem still not solved
>More shit to fall on top of you when earthquakes hit
>More expensive to maintain a house
>More resources and energy is used to create solar panels
>Still has 14.5 million gasoline/diesel cars
Is this your brain on liberalism?

Attached: HitlerWasRight.jpg (670x833, 71K)

>California should be really struggling financially.

In a way they are, but they can keep "kicking the can down the road" by taxing everybody into extreme poverty. Picture somewhat related.

Attached: serveimage.jpg (1280x718, 353K)

>>Still has 14.5 million gasoline/diesel cars
This is a public transit activist in Los Angeles. It sounds like hyperbole but these people really exist and she has been running for political office.

Why are we getting so much oil shilling here? (((Who))) is raiding us?

Don't forget solar power battery banks use lithium!

>75% of your population can’t afford homes
>tack more mandatory shit onto housing development
>bitch and whine about streetshitters dominating SF

She does know that California depends on truck driving and farming more than anything, right?

>p-please buy my lithium

>California depends on truck driving and farming more than anything
Agriculture is 2% of the states economy I believe.

Fucking kek. I'm completely self-sufficient and get paid for it. Installed them 4 years ago and they just paid for themselves.

California is already having rolling brownouts thanks to their idiotic pushing of renewables only policy.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duck_curve

What this means to the layman is that their solar panels produce a ton of electricity when there is low demand, but are ineffective when there is demand.
There is no good way to store this energy. It either is totally wasted (not pushed onto the grid) or they have to PAY someone to take it during the day, and then fire up lots of non-renewables during peak hours and buy more expensive power.
It's the same thing that happens in Germany - they introduce tons of solar to be "green", then find that their power grid is unstable as fuck. During the day they have too much solar generation, then peak load comes when they can't use their panels and they're forced to import at greater expense more power from nuclear in France, and fire up lots of coal plants. They're burning more coal (haha, in more than one way) than they used to before being "green".

TL;DR: Throwing money at solar panels is not the answer.

2049 can't come fast enough. Can't wait to start banging engineered thots.

Attached: SmartSelect_20181208-115724_Brave.jpg (670x398, 144K)

So they're the first state to legalize cucksheds. Very progressive.

Good luck installing that shit on an existing home in Cali.

>
>Fucking kek. I'm completely self-sufficient and get paid for it. Installed them 4 years ago and they just paid for themselves.

That's awesome. Jealous.

I can't install them here because of the cost and county regulations make them extremely cost inefficient.

>tiny homes
>legalize

imagine living in such an authoritarian hellhole that it's illegal to build your own home if it's not big enough

This. It's for their own good m8.

>. I'm completely self-sufficient and get paid for it.
Receives subsidy and thinks he is self-sufficient.

Attached: willshacknerWTF.gif (178x195, 875K)

goes into affect in 2020, so they have to hurry

fuck off elon

>makes the energy grid more efficient and stable
Literally the opposite.
All renewables that are unpredictable wreak havoc on grid reliability.

People are just wasteful with electricity. I am one person in a three bedroom house and I spend about $1 per day on power after taxes.

Attached: 20181208_110320.jpg (2576x1932, 1.73M)

Whithout nuclear power pulling the slack they will be fucked, ask our German anons about it.

this works when you use the extra energy to support hydroelectric dams, to put the water back on top during the day. you still lose a fuckton of energy but it makes sense budget-wise.

doing a quick research on this, California of course doesn't do that and only started considering it this year.

Attached: dcd.png (400x400, 138K)

lol ok no more home construction I guess

Do you not know what self-sufficient means? I generate all the power I use. It has nothing to do with subsidies.

They don’t understand anything about logistics no matter how hard you try to explain it. Its the California education at work for ya.

I spoke to a public transit activist that was telling people light rail would reduce truck traffic. He had no idea it only transports people not cargo.

Theyre coming to my state by the droves. Rest in peace Nevada

>highest rate of poverty of any state
>homeless epidemic
>highest housing prices in country
>better mandate solar panels

What's a phrase to describe champagne socialists that actually hurt the working class and poor every time they speak and with everything they do? I feel like there has to be a more concise way to describe this.

Solar is not a solution, read Kaczynski.

What's wrong with asking for subsidies ?
subsidies are just a fraction of your tax money you paid the previous year or will pay later.
Strayanon could have bought them anyway if there was no state at all.

Attached: B-jaiditpute.png (1920x1080, 1.43M)

Your money is gone, you are receiving debt.

there are 2 ways to interpret "and get paid for it". (a) you get a subsidy, (b) you sell your excess back to the grid. sounds like the user is assuming (a). are you saying it's (b)? or maybe there is a (c)?

Lysenkoism. Named after a Soviet dude who decided basic science was bourgeois and that farming in the russian winter or covering the crops with soap would yield better results.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysenkoism

This won't even affect "big oil", it will supplement power that already is not coming from fossil fuels in most parts of California.

Cucked beyond sanity by green energy manufactoring cartel in the making.

You should go to be independant so when you are nuked,US dont have to intervene
