Supporters of the National Party (NP) and Irexit Freedom to Prosper have been using Jow Forums, an online network popular with alt-right activists, to oppose the United Nations migration pact.
A silent protest outside the Dail on Thursday night was promoted on Jow Forums’s Irish-focused “eire/pol” thread in advance. Organised by the Irexit party on Facebook and Twitter, it attracted about 150 anti-pact activists. A counter-protest drew about 100 people.
A joint Sunday Times and Storyful investigation of the online network found an increase in activity by Irish users regarding the UN pact, an international agreement to support safer migration. A discussion thread devoted to the protest on Thursday was the largest that Storyful had observed since it began monitoring the platform.
A series of posts onthe “eire/pol” thread encouraged people to promote the protest. Users compared support for the event to backing the National Party. One said: “It’s being held by Irexit so check their Twitter for details, but a load of our guys are going (eire/pol, NP members etc) and also randomers who have found out about the UN pact.
“It probably won’t make the government stop signing it but it’ll be a vigil/ protest to show people there is a growing resistance to all the mass immigration nonsense the current government are forcing on this country. It’ll also look good, and the NP lads can [promote] for NP big time.”
James Darby, director of communications for the Irexit party, said he had not heard of any campaign on Jow Forums beforehand. He said his group had focused their promotion on Facebook and Twitter.
Justin Barrett, the National Party leader, declined to speak to The Sunday Times.
On another thread related to the protest, posters referred to Niall Boylan, a DJ on radio station Classic Hits, saying they hoped he would cover the event and spread their message. “Boylan is going to do a show on it regardless of whether the rally was publicly announced or not,” they said. “Boylan would still do a show about ‘the pictures he saw on social media of a protest’. That’s what will be useful.”
In response to the comments on Jow Forums, Boylan said many people viewed him as “leaning slightly more on the right” politically, making him more likely to report on immigration policy than other broadcasters. He had not heard of the protest and had no contact about reporting on it.
On Jow Forums, opponents of the pact from across the world, including Ireland, shared links to petitions asking a number of different countries to gather more signatures. A petition calling on Ireland to reject the pact had been shared nine times on the platform and gathered more than 3,500 signatures.
The newly established Yellow Vest Ireland Facebook page also promoted the protest. The page is trying to use the anti-government gilets jaunes protest in France to create a similar movement among Irish people.
Those who indicated they would attend the protest on Jow Forums also said they would wear yellow vests. During the demonstration, many protesters and counter-protesters were wearing the vests outside Leinster House.
The UN migration pact came about after Europe struggled to deal with a sudden migration inflow in 2015 from the Middle East. In 2016, 193 member countries of the UN signed the New York declaration, which called for the adoption of a migration pact by the end of 2018.
The non-binding UN agreement is laid out in the form of 23 objectives, which it says aim to better manage mig- ration “at local, national, regional and global levels”.
Goals of the pact include making it safer to migrate, helping people to build better lives in their country of origin and creating conditions that support migrants to enrich their societies.
It has been opposed by activists who have raised concerns that the pact could encroach on national migration policies. Some EU countries — including Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria — have declared they will not participate. Non-EU countries such as Israel, the US and Australia have also pulled out of the pact.

Reminder that anything and everything you say on this board is seen, taken and kept by the likes of storyful and the Sunday Times to use against you in defaming articles against the National Party or Irexit as we saw today.
So to all the glow in the dark users who keep advocating for violence or any acts of criminality and the like on this board I'll say this....please kindly fuck off from eirpol and stop giving them fuel to defame the right wing in this country.
Why do we have two threads?
Why did your government allow itself to be used by the EU to beat the UK with?

What's the story, Storyful?
But what was the strategic benefit at the end of the day? We're now going to crash out with no deal and 80% of your exports go through us
This one started 7 mins after the first
OP was a fag and didn't ctrl+f é
>what was the strategic benefit
their bank accounts
case in point; they're shit and our leader isnt ethnically irish and none of them have european interests, let alone irish interests at heart
the country of morocco by hosting the pact, has in effect declared war against the irish nation along with those who sign the pact there including varadkar and the traitors in our goverment.
If their writer's young then it's not really unbearable, Jow Forums is actually pretty tame if you've grown up on the internet.
Thank fuck, I was picturing having to keep track of 5 Éire/pol/ threads a day. If we're being watched here though, the question becomes where do we go?
>jews are reporting on us
I thought this was a secret club?
fuck ya Morocco ya non-country ye
Don't worry user, this is our Tausendjähriges Faden
every word online is an act of metapolitical warfare now, my helper friend
Massing on Kildare Street tends to have that effect. Protesting isn't comfy
>protesting isn't comfy
speak for yourself, loved being around likeminded people for once
It's inspiring, sure, but we're going to get pushback now. One protest doesn't win the war

yeah, he's right with the church. Most people raped by priests were post pubescent boys, so its clear its an issue of repressed homosexuality than anything else

Leo Varadkar isn't just a shitskin. He's a queer shitskin. Every night he gets fucked up the arse then every day he fucks your fenian republic up the arse.
It's a beautiful thing really.
reminder that the sunday times is an anglo-jewish newspaper which always has been and always will be anti Irish.
It’s just isolated I feel, I went there on holiday every year to a caravan beside the beach, everybody I met was pretty redpilled, not that I realised what they were talking about until I got older.
lad, do you think we disagree with you?
Irish Times is too.
we'd be done sooner if we named the publications who arent completely fucked

I can sympathise with the Brexiters more than they might imagine. They're like us a hundred years ago - unable to leave an empire.
Didn’t he used to have a news paper running even into the 70s? And what stops people on here from creating one of their own, George Lincoln Rockwell had an incredibly aesthetic magazine that really helped spread his message accurately without going through a Jewish press filter.

That would be a defeatist gesture, hiding from the problem will not make it go away, we must not resort to escapism.
