One of the greatest causes of modern civilization breaking down completely. It's a combo of smart phones and social networking. But not in the way you think.
Basically it's like this. Most people fish for validation(AKA dopamine hits) on social media and smart phones basically act as a constant connection. What this translates to is people constantly hitting their dopamine receptors, even worse than a speed addict, because a speed addict is eventually forced to stop. This constant agonism of dopamine receptors causes several problems.
1. EGO. People have massive egos now and will fight you over their opinions on any damn thing.
2. Psychosis. It's an insidious psychosis too. Not the shadow people and demon screams kind, but the overly agitated and emotional kind.
3. Depression. One of the main reasons depression rates are increasing is simply because taxing the dopamine receptors causes dopamine receptor downregulation and crashes.
4. Overly sexual lifestyles. This is why lewdness has been hugely increasing sine the iPhone went on sale. You see, dopamine also causes sexual arousal. Higher levels of dopamine receptor activation generally lead to perversion.

Don't believe me? Consider this. The modern status quo act almost exactly like meth heads in the 70s and 80s acted. If you've ever done cocaine, meth, pyros, or general speed for fun, you know all of these symptoms.
