Some change may occur if G.D. gets like super high % (15-20%) but I doubt this can happen. Even if that happens, without a wise person to guide their fire they'll just end up being a chaotic force. From time to time, while travelling by air around Europe I've talked with some N.Europeans (usually retired) that have bought/rented land in some comfy Greek village and live there most of their time. They got back to their country like 2-3 months per year (for Christmas & Easter mostly).
Also, lots of foreigners (Westerners) live in our rich suburbans in Athens. If you have a decent income, life is really good in such communities.

I don't think this is true. We are very hospitable as a nation (partially a side-effect due to depending a lot in tourism for some many decades).
As long as you are friendly and civilized, most people will welcome you. You might an issue though with older Greeks not speaking English (or at least not being fluent enough, thus it's makes it hard to socialize). But younger generations do speak English. There are lots of comfy bars in the city center of Athens (the non-niggerized one) that many expats hand out and it's common to meet foreigners there.
