Celts eat dogs. The zooarchaeology is unequivocal on this, and this is probably the source of the rural traditions that lasted at least into the late 20th century in some Swiss cantons. This is not to put down Celts. It’s just to remind you how ego- and present-centric uses of ancient identity are. People emphasize only those connections and practices that are self-esteem boosting and aren’t even aware of what they ignore or don’t even begin to contemplate
