Peterson's message is to take responsibility (rehashing the whole "man up" narrative). Fair enough, he does have a point to some degree. However, his message falters in several dimensions:

Firstly, he vehemently refuses to outline a purpose for said responsibility. Instead he goes down some avenue of "rescue your father from the underworld" or "embrace the logos"... which are somewhat vague descriptions to say the least.

Secondly, he's pretty much is fine with the status quo: "look at how great capitalism is in reducing absolute poverty". He does speak about the problems of "unequal distribution leading to violence", but has no answer other than allude to the above mentioned metaphorical solutions.

Last, but not least, he is an academic and is "solutions" are theoretical. The whole "clean your room" stuff is great, but what if your cleaned your room, read the classics and are active in your local community that suddenly got "enriched" by immigrants from cultures incompatible with yours?

So yeah in THEORY his approach SHOULD work, but in THEORY the whole Leftist agenda of: "be tolerant of people who are different" works as well.... in practice...

not only does above make literally no sense, the citation for this statistical anomaly is from a 1930 publication in the Journal of Social Psychology. Bad that he's using nearly 100 year old social science to draw a conclusion to modernity, right? Whats worse is the author of the study literally came to the exact opposite conclusion back in 1930...citing proportional differences make the Peterson conclusion absurd.

So he either doesn't actually know what the study has shown us, or he does and is using it in a misleading manner, intentionally. I believe the latter is true, because this is by no means the only example. In fact, almost everything he says is complete and utter bullshit.
