Assets used to be taxed at a 0.8 or 1% rate, but since the constitutional concil stated you cannot be taxed more than 50% of your yearly incomes, those very wealthy had fiscal experts devise schemes where they would have no income but their assets would still grow, thus would not be taxed. Under Macron however that "asset" tax has been remade into a real estate only tax that only impacts the middle class.
And before you spew any more BS, remember that even the almighty US once had an income tax rate of 90%
