Why is this hideous art style invading every major platform?
CalArts
exactly where? looks very 80´s
Firefox, Facebook, the Apple app store, etc.
it looks jewish
Giant bodies = predictive programming for return of Nephilim
Also notice the pop-up box right at "her" crotch level simulating a big dick.
Baphomet
youtube.com
this popular channel does it, it must be because its cheap and fast to produce
not sure that i agreed with you on that. but I am so god damn tired of all the flat remix icons and numix that everyone rice their shitty arch install with
SVG?
I'm assuming it's because the art style isn't "offensive" because that ugly giant encompasses many different body styles.
This is just stockphoto art.
actually its not exactly the same, but what do you mean by /this style/ OP?
Because it’s easy to shit out a flat, modernist, soulless logo/illustration than it is to pay someone the hours it takes to create something unique.
Shit, 99% of web developers these days are using the same recycled shit from icons8 or similar resources.
Looks good.
Abstracted geometric minimalistic illustration art works great with flat design.
Graphic designer here, there's been a trend over the years for graphics to get simpler and simpler. Don't blame us, blame clients who expect faster art return for less pay, also w'ere now competing with teenage 3rd worlders with a pirated copy of photoshop who call themselves "designers" and work for less than minimum wage. In the good old days of print it could take days to go from sketch to typesetting, to photography, plating and print and pay was alot better since you got more hours of work.
So very much this.
If a client wants a story to come across and the design can cost 300 or 2800 dollars. They're going to go for the simplistic flashy illustration over the realism.
jews
everytime
Everything's being dumbed down to child level complexity. Just like that gay ass ukulele and xylophone music with clapping and whistling in every advertisement.
>flat design
Worst design
Not everything has to be made for 4 year olds and boomers
That being said its a good design because you use vectors instead of images
Luckily I have a niche, I do packaging design and clients are usually willing to pay us more as they know they are competing on store shelves for people's attention. Also our industry will never go away as packaging will be with us for the end of time or until we can send food by hologram like star trek. I feel for those struggling in the web/digital world though which is just saturated right now and print media is slowly dying.
I tried to find a compilation but it’s stuff like pic related. Simplifying logos into flat and sleek designs.
Admittedly, on their own I do like them and think they generally look better than the busier designs and serif fonts of a few decades ago, but I see these flat styles literally EVERYWHERE these days and I can feel their lifelessness eating my soul.
Other examples off the top of my head: Patreon, AirBnB, Google, PayPal, IHOP
fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuck me I hate that shit.
Is it not also that simpler but unique designs are easier to recognize?
It's Jew art.
Forgot pic
Because it's simple and easy to draw this way so even talentless millennials can feel like they're the next Rembdandt
>Just like that gay ass ukulele and xylophone music with clapping and whistling in every advertisement.
No clue why but i hear that shit in commericals it legit makes me angry
John cheerios greene's crash course?
The world is such a fun and happy place, now make a fucking purchase.
They probably simplify all these designs to make them machine readable.
It’s like a shittier pastel version of Art Deco. Aren’t art majors supposed to have done Denver if style?
this is the simple answer:
the complex answer is that most of the creative industries are driven by people with money, and it's all a game to them from start to finish. There never has been or ever will be a 'little start up band', they're paid by record companies to go on a small label and then 'make it big!' when they were going to 'make it big' the entire time. Someone rich wanted someone in their family to inject their worldview and ideology onto the world around them, and they happily did it. It's no more complicated or simple than that.
This pretty much and it is also the trend towards minimalism, which is also prevalent in product design
That's actually a tech limitation (yes, in 2018). Vector graphics scale better at multiple resolutions than raster images, but the more detail they have the bigger the file size. So they basically invented a new art style around stripping images down to be as small as possible for transmission while still being recognizable.
looks like word clip-art
because its simple and cheap.
To an extent, obviously Apple's design aesthetics with lots of white space and clean type is generally thought of as academically the best, but there is a difference between well-thought and structured minimalism vs just drawing a blob of a human like the OPs graphic. Also Apple is still relies heavily on good photography.
You know who is responsible. Name them blame them shame them!
I like it. It's simple and abstract, it's a good design. You can use this style for motion graphics if you want to. It's a good solution.
Can you give an example of what you think would be an adequate art style for these plataforms?
To reinforce NPC culture. Everyone in those pictures looks like your typical liberal happy go lucky faggot and they're supposed to feel relatable and like role models to the braindead masses.
The worst part is that you’re actually right. Simple, blocky, and monochromatic is the logical choice for pixelated screens.
The downside is that it appeals solely to the lowest common denominator just like every other piece of cultural backwash that gets shoved down our throats.
will brad neely do?
I actually like minimalist design. It doesn’t come off as despressing and cheesy to me.The pic you posted is ugly though.
>No clue why but i hear that shit in commericals it legit makes me angry
It's because you subconsciously realize they're clumsily trying to social engineer you using music to manipulate your emotional state.
Normally this is very effective and you don't notice it or even enjoy it ("epic" music playing to make something seem amazing), but the music is infantilizing in this case, so your uncucked masculine internal self-image vehemently rejects it. Same way "Pajama Boy" was a key step on my road to the rejection of leftism. This was who they saw me as, and who they wanted me to be, but the idea of being such a disgusting creature filled me with horror and made me reevaluate many of my beliefs. I am not like these people, so why would I stand along side them?
Propose a solution then !
You can't have Da Vinci making every illustration in your company. You can't animate a complex illustration without dozens of excellent animators.
Same short of shit is popular here too.
I think we're all barking up the wrong tree here as it's not minimalism per se that is driving OP up the wall. It's the leftist style of drawing that is offensive to him (and me).
>faceless or with abstracted facial features.
>grossly distorted proportions, typically with a small head or large extremities.
>typically female or a "person of color"
None of these aspects are inherent to minimalist draftwork, but it's pervasive in modern design.
I agree with you João. I see no other real alternative.
Flat vectorized art often featuring women and/or POC stylized with long and thick legs, I guess.
i first noticed it with casper mattress ads few years ago in NYC but yeah, vector graphic illustration is more popular than ever
Although I agree that this style has been heavily used by leftists, what's the other style out there? Where are the right wing style of pop illustration/motion graphics, as simple as that, that you'd suggest for my company?
Then it’s just another (((leftist))) corruption of an otherwise enjoyable style. Just wait until they decide they want to ‘reboot’ more than just movies, you’ll have Black Mona Lisa in the Louvre and the statue of David will actually be trans.
I think it's used a lot because there's a shitload of royalty-free music in that style for some reason.
featureless expressions for NPC culture
You say ‘right wing styles,’ but any right wing company probably just kept their traditional logo from decades ago instead of hopping on the trendy bamdwagon.
To be honest, I like flat design. Windows 7 Aero was a piece of cow excrement in my opinion, but the windows 10 flat desigb looks better. Not the best and it is inconsistent, because consolidating the graphical interface is as painful to Microsoft as it is for a jew to see a 100$ note on the sidewalk on Saturday. Point is, they still have a lot of work to do.
youtube.com
Compare with this, this is the alternative. That's why I say this style (OP) is better, it's a good solution to make something simple, fast and elegant.
Minimalism is the realm of the mediocres.
>elegant
you don't know what you're talking about philistine. you shouldn't even be allowed to even talk about beauty and aesthetics.
grow up, this is illustration, commercial work. this is not art.
Still better than mid-00s 'lol lets make every icon "realistic", and also shiny!'.
Maybe make better design software so not everything has to look like 80s Atari graphics
Holy fuck, I am literally on the subway right now and am looking at casper ads and I had just read this thread before I left the house. Yep, precisely.
What exactly was wrong with it? All I hear is people bemoaning that style while never actually explaining what the problem was.
>worthless degree holder upset his worthless degree is actually worthless
it's will of planetary demon
same with constructivism architecture
it shouldn't exist. you admit it yourself: it's commercial work
EW, what's the point of commercial work? To keep the hordes of educated philistines busy. they shouldn't be educated in the first place.
exactly
nice if you agree, there is more info concerning this and many other things in "Rose of the World" book by Daniil Andreev
here is half the book translation in English: odon.org/andreev/trotw.htm
whole book in russian (it autotranslates in browser very well): rozamira.org
Cheesy? The homely vibe was nice though.
kys psycho
first link doesn't work but browser translation seems to be alright for the second link, surprinsingly
thanks
>Why is this hideous art style invading every major platform?
Wondered the same thing as you, user. Started noticing it earlier this year.
first thing i thought of. jews can't into depth perception so all the proportions are off
it's really simple to illustrate, so it makes less of a barrier for entry for women designers
reminds me of the 80s/90s Post Modernism
So, I'm the creator of twitter.com
Just wait until the next graphic designer hobby horse hits the market. I forget what it's called and I will try to find it but the point is to be literally aesthetically jarring.
It's like one of those memes where each line is a different font, color and size except they're actually trying to market with it.
timokuilder.com
this seems to be the illustrator of OP's original picture
instagram.com
here's his instagram
>Flat vectorized art often featuring women and/or POC stylized with long and thick legs, I guess.
Spot on.
here , everyone enjoy a flat pepe
>twitter.com
>pepe
that's just Gumby, you fraud
May I please have some examples of that kind of music? Ukeleles, clapping, banjos, etc., etc. I seem to remember that this awful music trend started with KT Tunstall. The music is just so bad that I can't even define the genre (((and that's a good thing))).
>Clapping and whistling
Or they have shitty "woah woah woaAh" lyrics.
I fucking HATE that.
how fucking horrid
Looks kinda cool desu
Beauty inspires, and we don't want people to be inspired. we want them to buy and obey.
I remember a similar style during the 80s. It was often used on kids shows designed to teach multiculturalism.
>Why is this hideous art style invading every major platform?
The jews. Jews hate real Art and they've spent large sums of capital to destroy it. Look up who the (((impressionists))) were. Art has only gone downhill since then.
because it's so easy niggers can do it
This is one of those things that, having had my attention drawn to it, I won't be able to stop noticing it.
The shit has been driving me mad since 2012.
>gay ass ukulele and xylophone music with clapping and whistling in every advertisement.
ALL I FEEL IS RAGE
This is the answer, I feel. They're having ooga boogas do the art for these things.
I love you /pol, never change
