It's an interesting thing that you don't have to be into anything in particular these days. You can admit that without it being strange. If you are on a date and you get asked that question it would be perfectly fine to say "I'm not into much in particular" or "I like these kinda random anime song", but then ask "So what are do you listen to?" ... "Oh, I don't know them. When we get back you should put on some of their stuff, I'd like to check it out" etc. Your always going to be best off keeping it real. Checking out music you aren't familiar because you are interested in expanding your horizons is a great thing, but doing a crash course in one genre or another and then being "into" it will probably come across as fake.
