>Insurance is a means of protection from financial loss.
>An entity which provides insurance is known as an insurer, insurance company, insurance carrier or underwriter.
> A person or entity who buys insurance is known as an insured or as a policyholder.
> The insurance transaction involves the insured assuming a guaranteed and known relatively small loss in the form of payment to the insurer in exchange for the insurer's promise to compensate the insured in the event of a covered loss.
>Not mandatory
It is good, and smart to have, I agree. However, it is MANDATORY in all 50 states to have car insurance, and in Michigan, idk about the other states, it is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE. You can GO TO JAIL for NOT having it. If someone wants to drive without it, get in an accident and now take a big (maybe even huge in cases of personal injury) financial hit, I think that should be on them.
How can it be illegal to NOT have something that is optional? Aside from "hurr the law" FUCK THE LAW. Am I missing something or is this just Jewery that most people skim right over?
Car Insurance Scam
paid for car insurance for over 23 years, never had an accident
there should be a law that once you hit a certain cap you don't pay more until you have an accident
>be innocent white driver
>get t-boned by drunk spic
>Ey sorry ese I gots no insurance
>The spic gets jail/deported
>You have a totalled car and horrific injuries with no way to, at the very least, get money from their insurance company to ease the pain
While I do agree it's a shitty Jew scheme, it DOES have it's uses.
Jewry for sure.
There are many legal dangers associated with driving uninsured. If you drive without insurance:
You cannot sue for pain and suffering, in accordance with Michigan’s No Fault Law, which states that damages for noneconomic loss shall not be assessed in favor of a party who was operating his or her own vehicle and did not have the motor vehicle security required by Section 3101 of the Vehicle Code.
You are responsible to pay all of your own medical expenses.
You cannot be reimbursed for lost wages.
You are responsible to pay for any and all damage to your vehicle.
You can be sued for another person’s pain and suffering.
You can be held liable for damage to another person’s vehicle.
You could face serious criminal and administrative penalties.
>Basically, the risk here, at worst, is someone isnt getting paid right away..
>Two people are driving uninsured, they crash, they live. They learn to drive more careful because they each lost their car in the accident aand dont get a Mercedes Gibz as a reward for crashing.
>Also, no more insurance fraud scams.
Add in autonomous cars and the writing is in th wall: driving is a privledge and will become cost-prohibitive for most with in 20 years.
You're subsidizing those who have them all the time
>gets jail
If they were drunk, okay. If not, you're looking at a personal lawsuit against them, and good luck suing someone with no money.
Some states will let you post a bond of the insurable liability requirement and not have insurance. But it's vastly cheaper to buy insurance than to lose that money as an income earning investment.
It isn’t mandatory in NH. Stop spreading lies
>there should be a law that once you hit a certain cap you don't pay more until you have an accident
Fucking /THREAD
Bro they drive anyway without it. Happens everyday.
In places like texas its $50k right?
Driving s a privilege, not a right.
That's why they can fore you to carry insurance.
More like 500,000 to 1,000,000 in most states.
This can go the other way. My retarded family member was street racing, annihilated a van full of illegal Mexicans, they all got severely injured and deported.
>be a poorfag
>get in an accident
>oops I have no way to pay for the damages I did to your car. Sorry! :^)
So... What's the problem? Was your family member ok?
Aaaaaand what if YOU are driving WITH insurance? They dont help you, and pay for your new car/part of your new car? Maybe im unfamiliar with what insurance YOU have, but most insurances help the person paying for it.
Regardless, yes your luck just ran out for the most part, but theres no reason that that spic should be REQUIRED to have insurance. Because my point stands; he just fucked his car/himself up and is not gaining a fucking cent out of it.
It depends on your plan. If you buy the cheapest insurance you can its not very helpful.
Because:
1) you don't HAVE to drive. Driving isn't a right and therefore, there are a few stipulations to that privilege.
2) if you are an irresponsible driver (i.e., a drunk, stupid, angry, or under the influence), you need to accept responsibility for your actions in monetary retribution.
3) most people cannot afford or simply will not pay for their stupidity. They'd take jail time before paying you for your broken back or wrecked car. This also involves years of judicial interference with little to no chance of payment and very possibly massive unpaid hospital bills. All of which would inevitably land on the shoulders of the tax payers.
4) therefore, insurance is mandatory as it not only keeps the court system smoother, hospital bills paid, and the victims of the accident in better shape than with nothing.
You still have to pay a bond, which is essentially insurance for your car.
Insurance is defined as "a means of protection from financial loss. It is a form of risk management, primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent or uncertain loss."
So if you want to argue semantics, then in that case, yes, I should have worded it a bit differently in the OP.
Shut the fuck up insurancefag
But how will the gulag masters make billions?
He's a fucking hero.
having a government owned insurance issuer was a good thing in this province, until the asians moved here and set up massage parlour schemes for fender benders causing 10-20k worth of massage payouts
Think they have those boxes that, if you install, are able to closely record how good you follow the rules, and the insurance is much cheaper with them. Don't know, don't drive a car, just heard about them.
