I'm pretty mentally ill (schizoaffective personality disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and tourette's syndrome those diagnosed) and honestly I'm starting to think I have no future.
I have practically no social life and very little friends with shit family.
I'm not very smart and I have problems with math (dyscalculia or some shit along those lines).
Forgive me if this doesn't make a whole bunch of sense, I'm pretty tired right now typing this
Yeah you're boned, that's either a heavily medicated future living in a care type setting or being a homeless drifter type.
Zachary Morales
Wew lad, and everyone I know says I have a future hahaha
Nathan Green
I have half those things and PTSD and panic disorder. I also have dyscalculia. Was never able to pass an algebra class in my life.
Although the first poster is incredibly cynical, he isn't completely without merit in saying that. Most of the hard meds they push on you, will nuke your mind and basically make you a zombie. A psych doc recently put me on a med called Zyprexia. It was basically a chemical lobotomy. Also made me sleep all throughout the day. Most of these meds are all the same. I don't know what to tell you on that front.
I would suggest you apply for SSI or whatever they call disability payments in your country. And try to go from there. First priority is just having a small, but steady income coming in so you don't starve.
Carson Stewart
I've been on disability in the past but I actually want to work, I'm tired of being a fucking parasite and draining everyone's money.
If I take disability I'll be no better than Sharquesha and her 50+ kids.
Also been on meds in the past and I don't remember much from that point in my life.
Nathaniel Bell
>Also been on meds in the past and I don't remember much from that point in my life.
No kidding. They true are zombie pills.
Alright, it's admiral that you want to work. I'm on disability but attending college. I hope to leave it and get a normie job.
What are your interests? What do you think you can do with your mental conditions in mind? I'm assuming not a people person job, right?
Jonathan Smith
I don't really have any legit interests but something where I could work in a comfy environment or something where I could work alone would be nice.
I'm not the smartest person so college really isn't for me desu.
Any suggestions? Of course if I have no future there is always Plan S.
Dominic Martin
Maybe a basic IT job would work for you? Although truth be told, they expect *some* college. Maybe not even a degree, just a certificate in "IT network administrator" from a community college would be enough. It only ought to take a semester, maybe two at the most to get that done. Something along those lines. I have a friend who got a job as an IT support staff at his hospital. He works graveyard and makes $20/hr doing fuck all. Hospitals are dead during the night, so he says that he literally just watched anime and movies on his phone. The most strenuous part of a job like that is just installing new computers or helping nurses "fix" computers that crash, i.e. just restart the PC or network. Brain dead job if there ever was one.
So do you think this is something you might want to persue?
Austin Young
I could do that, as long as it requires jack shit in programming.
I've considered opening my own buisness or some shit like that but working somewhere like that for the time being shouldn't be too bad.
Jayden Smith
You don't need to know programming to be some some IT support monkey. Look up certificates in your local CC and go from there. If you don't want to do IT, then you can also persue a trade, usually the same CC will have a couple of courses. Plumbing, electric, welding, and HVAC all in demand.
And if you don't want to do any training, then go for truck driving, or UPS/Carrier delivery man.
Isaiah Sanders
If I was 21 I'd do USPS delivery, and I've tried an IT school in the past and I bombed the fuck outta it. Trades sound good but I have no clue where to start
Do you still wish to live? Or do you want to kill yourself? Just saying, both options don’t seem bad for you.
Michael Anderson
Wait till you're 21, or try IT school at a CC (not some bullshit tech school) and actually give a fuck to pass some very basic computer courses. Remember "Cs" get degrees. And if you're truly can't handle any college study, then google trade school shit in your area. My community college has courses. Just look around.
Alright, only you can decide what YOU want to do with the rest of your life. Find the least miserable and do-able job for yourself.
Jayden Bailey
It's just that most of the trades sound like shit and I'd end up with arthritis at 30. I already fell for the tradeschool meme so I'm afraid of trying it again (got debt, fuck me)
Elijah Bennett
When you do it please don't take anyone with you. Just be graceful about it.
Sebastian Lopez
Nah nigga, if I'm doing it I'm taking some shit humans with me.
Read:politicians or (((government)))
Thomas Turner
Bruh start doing Wim Hof method + cold showers + meditating + going to bet at 10PM & waking up at 5AM + reading self development books.
I had a shit ton of problems and felt lost and sometimes like i was going insane, but that stuff basically changed my life.
Try it for a month, you will thank yourself. It WILL help!
Jordan Rogers
If you can't handle either IT or trades, then get the UPS or USPS job when you're 21. There, stop worrying about shit. Just sit and wait. In the meantime, go apply to some fucking overnight warehouse if u want some spending money. Just wear some earphones and you don't need to talk to anyone.
Jason Evans
I'm kicked out of the house if I dont get a job in a year
Dylan Gomez
20 btw, should have mentioned that
Isaiah Allen
This only works for normies desu. Not to shit on your parade but this meme advice literally does nothing for people who are legitimately mentally ill
When you feel okay you give advice about things you did that helped you but someone with deeper issues simply cannot do the advicd as followed.
I think op should consider that there is hope first, and then try to find a way that works for them. The first step is believing in yourself.
Do you have any hobby you feel passionaye about?
Dylan Murphy
No serious hobbies, just lifting at the moment. Used to play bass but I never can find time for it.
Gabriel Brown
Thats ONLY for YOU to decide bro.
You are responsible for making the right choices in life. I’m diagnosed with Borderline Personality disorder and when I first got the diagnose I lost my shit completely and thought life was over.
Then, after a few years feeling incredibly bad about myself, self loathing and self pity, I realised that I am not my diagnosis, I can take responsebility for my life and my actions and by changing how I think about the things I struggle with, also change what I feel about it.
The hardest pill to swallow is realising that you are in no way unique or special.
That hurt me so fucking bad, I’ve always thought of myself as a different, better human than the others around me. After a while though, the realisation that theres nothing unique about me or my suffering really helped me realise that the suffering was self inflicted
