I don’t think so, in my opinion, China’s success comes from the fact that it dominates its domestic market.
There really isn’t anyway for foreign companies to make any meaningful headway in the Chinese market, since the government will pretty much shut down any competition when the “Chinese version” of the product or service becomes available.
Like for example, you cannot make use of any google services in China, however China has its own version of apps that is very similar to google, so in that way money from consumers do not flow outwards and only Chinese citizens are employed.
On the other hand Chinese companies are setting up shops abroad making money from foreigners, so long as their domestic market are secured with the help of the government, they have a distinct advantage in the form of an extra source of revenue, not available to other companies.
