It's touchy for me, a lot of my family are addicts, a lot of them died, and sure it would be nice to have addicts removed by overdose, but you also have to think about the family they leave behind.
What I'd really want is Duterte style death squads killing drug dealers.

No. I did hard drugs in my teens including heroin, meth and cocaine. I haven't touched any drugs in over ten years now long before I came to /new/. I'm 30 now. I'm not going to just stumble back into drug use again.

They had guys who grew up on rez’s ( whoreally had nothing to do besides get into drugs.) doing presentations for addiction specialist about how they got off the shit and what docs can do to help people better. I had a patellar fracture earlier in the year and for a month and a half, I was in so much constant pain that I absolutely would've taken heroin if promised it would take away the pain for awhile. Im thankful I was housebound for that time, I might've gone out looking for pills, especially in the first few days of being cut off. If someone offered me heroin, if not for the fentanyl epidemic, I probably would have tried it.
I got all the sympathy now for people who got hooked on Opioid painkillers. Their fucking doctors, someone they should be able to trust, gave it to them like candy then cut off suddenly.

most opioids arent as addictive as heroine or fentanyl. hydromorphone extended release wont give you any high whatsoever and can easily be given for a few weeks without any chance of you getting an addiction.

also many grandmas have fentanyl patches for their back pain and zero problems with addiction.
