Lifelong Catholic. The Church hasn't felt the need to evangelize because the old people are their primary source of income.
People today crave meaning (just look at the response to Jordan Peterson), but they find the Church too large and intimidating. The Church's biggest challenge right now is adapting to the digital media in a way that doesn't come off as inauthentic and soapy (a lot of Protestant "Christian" media) or preachy and substanceless (how new atheism ended up being).
The Church has centuries upon centuries of philosophy that's worth engaging, but it chooses to never mention it for some stupid reason.
