the reason why you saw cops not doing shit about the dope boys and hookers is because they're severely short-staffed, and responding to violent crime (primarily murder) is a higher priority. Obama's DOJ neutered the BPD after the Freddie Grey chimpout, and the city's current leadership is niggerfied and terrible. on top of that, there was a huge scandal here involving a crime/gun taskforce where the guys on that team were just as bad as the niggers they were going after... so basically morale is completely fucked.

my advice as someone who's lived here off-and-on for a decade and hasn't been mugged/raped/had anything get broken into is to keep a low profile and don't look distracted. if you're walking down the street and see someone really sketch a block or two ahead, cross the street. don't flash around shit like your phone more than you have to, even if it's a shitty smartphone or flip phone (heroin addicts will steal anything). be wary of kids hanging around your car because carjacking and joyriding has been a problem lately.

Around the harbour and Fells Point is not as bad. Good restaurants and bars but yeah Baltimore is a shithole. I went to school there and have always lived in MD. You’re crazy for going there unarmed. Even if you have to illegally carry it’s better then dying.

sadly, yes in varying degrees. there are pockets like my neighborhood (Charles Village) and what this user recommended, but they're still touched by niggershines. the only parts where it isn't bad/nigs can't easily reach by bus are areas way out in the northern part like Mt. Washington and Hamilton. hopefully you'll get to work out that way and be around humans. leftys here whine about what's called the "white 'L'" (middle of the city) and "black 'butterfly'" (east and west surrounding the "L"), but the reality is that it's bad almost everywhere.

the worst of the worst are eastside past I-83 and westside all along Wilkins Ave. basically the dumb "butterfly" part. what you drove through earlier honestly pales in comparison by Baltimore-standards. going through a neighborhood like Oliver (eastside) or Sandtown (westside) is downright scary both visually and psychologically between the entire blocks of empty rowhomes and just misery all around you.
