The Wendelstein 7-X has now broken records for producing the highest density of plasma (2 x 10^20 particles per cubic metre) and the highest energy density (more than one Megajoule), bringing it one step closer to being suitable for clean fusion power.
The team also says it has achieved long-lasting plasma reactions of 100 seconds for the first time – another record for a stellarator device.
“It’s only a matter of time until we can use this commercially to power all of Germany”, said Professor Heinrich von Mannerheim, who leads the secretive German fusion efforts.
>fusion waste of fucking time. We already have the tech to power the world fully with clean energy. (solar, wind, tidal, geothermal) >no no goyim, keep chasing the rabbit. fuck even LFTR tech is a WAY better investment of time & money. BASED chinks are developing this.
Sure! You just have to solve the little Deutsche Bank problem first.
We not gonnu pay though.

Absolutely nothing new in this article.

Yes, the Wendlestein is a fantastic piece of work, but it was never designed to produce net positive power and this is coming from the engineers who had limited resources to build the 7-X. Good news is Toronto scientists figured out how plasma works (SAFIRE) and whoever builds the next reactor with their equations will start the new energy epoch.

with this device we can once again claim back our eastern territories. Finally we will be an imperial power again.

It is a hoax, the whole point of fusion reactors is that you can milk fuel longer like the power generation comes from the by-product of the fission part of the cycle still.
Kayden Clark
Dont worry, germans will pay for it. Just like they paid for every last crisis.

>all done on a shoestring budget >took over a decade to build it >actually works without blowing up yes it's "old" but Tokamaks are even older and yet both can fuse elements together, if only nuclear reactors didn't create weapons grade uranium we'd be on a different level right now with fusion

will germany kill turks when they start die Gotterdammerung and clean the world with fusion blaster and orbital death rays?
Logan Sullivan
the main point is : between 1870 and 1930 we went from maxwell's laws to quantum mechanics. after that we improved our technology only, not our knowledge. it's been 90 years now physics doesn't make meaningful steps forward.
So any reason to not make this size od motor and power up cars, jets or use it as generator for buildings?
Adrian Gonzalez
What about the sky laser thing? DEW is a huge energy sourcr.

This is wrong on so many levels. >more than one megajoule My dick has litteraly more energy
>it's only a matter of time until we can use this to conercially Power all of germany
Germany is producing so much energy that our electricity distribution net can not handle it, on days that are "good" for solar energy we PAY the swiss to TAKE energy from us.

Jackson Bailey
Magnetic confinement of plasma needs superconductors. Superconductors need thousands of liters of coolant. That means it's a no no for anything mobile.
Also primary way of extracting the energy is through heat to electricity. That means huge turbines.
Jackson Campbell

>more rapefugees will come >hurry up Brexit so that Britain would be out forever and never come back, so that Germany would rule EU with Britain out and France down, leaving Germany as the greatest power of the continent >some worse-than-9/11 attacks will happen, riling up Europeans against sandniggers >the EU leadership will exploit this, using it as excuse to create the EU Army >use the EU Army not only to kill and expel rapefugess, since they are no longer needed, but also to kill anyone rebelling against EU >establish puppet governments in all EU >move EU HQ from Brussels to some German city, like Aachen (Charlemagne had his throne there), Berlin (Welthaupstadt is no longer a dream), or Nuremberg (in an ironic fashion, so as to show even if Germans lost WW1 and WW2, they won WW3) >make all major European states smaller by supporting irredentism and autonomy movements, so as to keep Germany big and be bigger, to make sure no one is big enough to oppose Germany >make the most pro-EU countries larger, especially eastern ones, so as to keep strong buffers against Russia >turn EU in the United States of Europe, thus uniting Europe in one country for real >invade Turkey somehow so that neither Russia or America to have it as ally against Balkans >use the Kurds against Turkey and back a Kurdish state so that Turkey would be destroyed from both east and west >pic related becomes reality
How do you actually harness the energy from a fusion reactor? Every diagram for brainlets I've seen makes it look like you never could

simple as that. and alliance with China will be easy since chinks will take Siberia anyway.
Fusion was accomplished long ago, even net gain fusion has been accomplished by now.
The problems are mainly in sustaining the reaction for more than a minute or so, and actually harnessing the energy released so it can be used to generate electricity. That and the immense complexity means high maintenance costs and lower reliability, not to mention the initial construction cost. All of those are undesirable for commercial operation.
Jaxon Ramirez
>This is wrong on so many levels. >>more than one megajoule When you're an engineer you should have noticed that a megajoule isn't an energy density.
>it's only a matter of time until we can use this to conercially Power all of germany You haven't read the article.
>That means it's a no no for anything mobile. It's supposed to be a power plant. Power plants are rarely very mobile.
Not so easy as you think. With mass immigration Europe is vulnerable more than ever. If Russia right this instant would decide to attack whole EU only the small number of people would retaliate. EU wants its army but the negroes and other weird creatures wont die for this land. When the shit hits the fan they will scramble into sewers like rats they are. The only thing that is stopping Russia to take Europe is America and this is not joke. If Russia attacks Europe we are done for which might not be so bad.
Jaxon James
You fuse Deuterium and Tritium to make He4. The surplus neutron isn't kept in the magnetic confinement and carries away the surplus fusion energy. The neutron then flies into a moderator where it generates heat which is used to run a turbine/generator.
Jack Carter
>wind, tidal, geothermal how do you use this in space? fusion reactors will be one step closer to leave this planet. the first colony on mars will be powered by a fusion reactor.
Gabriel Cooper
>then flies into a moderator How
Henry Torres
Neutron are neutrally charged so they do not mind magnetic fields. They just move normally and hit the moderator. Which is just water
the mass immigration is all part of the plan to rile up Europeans and make them unite against a common enemy.
Russia is fucked, they will be caught between Chinese hammer and European anvil.
Grayson Anderson
Fusion has no conventional waste. The waste is tritium atom. A very useful element for fusion
your reactors wall will eventually get damaged and irradiated because of Neutron damage
Ayden Bell
clean energy. what waste are you talking about?
Jaxon Rivera
> Implying eu army won't be used to crush anti-rapefugee protests > No 2nd Amendment
Jaxon Johnson
What do you mean how? There will be a (heavy) water reservoir around that torus and the neutrons will be stopped in it at some point. That's when they deposit their energy.
Helium is the waste product.
Dominic Gutierrez
Wendelstein is a joke, Google SPARC, the real fucking deal.
Wyatt Baker
>rile up Europeans and make them unite against a common enemy
Who is our enemy. Why did they invnite millions of them here. It doesnt make sense to me.
Xavier Campbell
the EU Army will be used to get rid of rapefugees once they are no longer needed, and it will be used to stop anti-EU rebellions.
maybe the EU should have a 2nd ammendment, to make sure everybody is armed for future wars to defend sacred Europa.
What is done with the helium to remove it from the reactor, which is the part I was originally referring to. How do you keep it running and remove it at the same time?
Ayden Powell
Still cahsing fool's gold? Better prepare yourself for blackout at windless, overcast days and blackedout with your new Merkel.
Isaiah Rivera
the rapefugees are used to become the common enemy to unite all Europeans.
once it all goes too far with several 9/11s but worse, the War will start, and EU Army will act out against them, to kill and throw them out of Europe.
Robert Murphy
We are. For example the best electro car will be from Porsche. Test drives shown best battery, best acceleration and best charging. If you thought Tesla is good, read up what BMW and Porsche is up!
But this doesnt make sense. Will the EU army also remove the high rank boys who invited them there in the first place? Why would they sign their own death warrant like this.
Adrian Ross
no, the EU Army will be ran by the high rank boys.
the high rank boys bring the rapefugees to cause chaos so they can have excuses to create the EU Army, and once its established, the Army will be used to kill and expell the rapefugees since they are no longer needed at that point.
Wyatt Green
anyone who who tries to advocate for solar energy as a main source of energy has no idea about grid systems.
Adam Perry
There is a vaccum pump running at all times, because the reactor is held at a very, very low pressure. The density of the plasma is very small compared to atmospheric pressure.
The volume inside the reactor where a reaction takes place, ie where a magnetic confinement is situated is pretty small. When there is a bit of helium floating around that doesn't hinder the reaction.
Easton Carter
This seems like big fairy tale to me. But i might be wrong. I really wish your posts are some kind of future predictions which are about to happen and i want them to but im realist and i know this is going to be civil/race war where EU elites will want to kill us all. Just look at America and their demography. Once mighty lion and now just mixed goblin eating shit from pavement.
Angel Lewis
I'm not doubting the inception of the machine working at all, I'm doubting it's working as an ongoing process. If helium is a byproduct and is not removed would It mever build up? Or is it so little that you can stop it every once in awhile for maintenemce and that's enough?
Daniel Johnson

How about our Canadian oil workers? Since there is no such things as man-made global warming should we not spend money on practical oil extraction?
Parker Cruz
MIT and UoT are unironically ahead of this and they haven't even built their scale reactors yet. The 7-X is a meme that was outdated before construction even started due to them having to freeze development so as to get the money to fund the device's construction.
Charles Young
>(2 x 10^20 particles per cubic metre) That's basically a vacuum. Fucking nothing.
Easton King
By the time fusion is commercially liable oil will be running out.
E=mc2 We replace the mass of the sun with large amounts of energy.
Thomas Rogers
Oil running out is an economic impossibility
Liam Wilson
Because Jeebuz will provide more oil?
Colton Sullivan
As I said, the helium nuclei either recombine and fly away as neutral gas atoms where they will eventually be sucked out by the vaccum pumps. Or they don't recombine and stay trapped inside the plasma where they can give away their kinetic energy and feed it back into the reaction. That's not bad either. Whether the confinement could become too polluted at some point I don't know, but I doubt it since the plasma density is so low anyways.
The Wendelstein 7-X isn't built to scale either. The productive machine would have to be at least twice as big.
Ian Nelson
Finite resource?
Zachary Martinez
Can't prove he's an American, might be an illegal though.
Easton Bailey
As oil becomes harder and costlier to attain it becomes more expensive, which makes other forms of energy relatively cheaper
If it costs 10 quadrillion dollars to succ the last bit near the center of the earth, you only need solar batteries to cost 9 quadrillion dollars or less to be more efficient and appealing
Nolan Ortiz
we must use it's energy to electrocute migrants
