The true gods of my ancestors have been almost entirely forgotten, we're barely aware of some of their names, let alone their attributes or any myth. The only way to somehow guess what they believed is by comparing to much later sources from Ireland, a completely different country.
Plus the core of the Celtic religion was the Druids' unbroken chain of oral teaching, which... was definitely broken and completely lost. Some random LARPer putting a dress on and calling himself a "Druid" is just pathetic, that's not how it works.
Now then there are Roman gods, but not only they are foreign too, but we only worshipped them somewhat for a couple hundred years. How is that more "the gods of my ancestors" than God the Father, the Christ and all the saints that my ancestors ACTUALLY prayed and built magnificent churches and cathedrals for during almost TWO THOUSAND years?
