The church was founded by his followers long after his death. It is disingenuous to say he himself founded it. There was a lot of janky shit in the decision of what is canon and how the church should exist. Lots of room for misinterpretation and even subversion of Christ's teachings. Question for Catholics: I was at a Cathedral recently where King John is buried and one of the priests told me a bit of history and when King John was excommunicated by the Pope, and he explained that this meant that no marriages, baptisms or any other religious rituals were considered legitimate, until the excommunicated monarch was replaced. I was wondering, if we ended up with a based Pope, could he threaten and pressure globalist politicians with large Catholic populations with excommunication? Clearly no leader of a country could allow this to happen. Would this work? Let's say, if Macron was excommunicated for being a globalist shill, no Catholic could be married or baptised in France, until he steps down.
