Ok, if it can help as a forecast I can tell you what happened with our far left party here. They tried way to hard to be in after ignoring the protest because it was rural. Now that the first poll are out, it seems the one who benefit the most of these protests are far right.

I think you're mistaken, Tay. People are hungry, they don't have enough money. Wage is aprox 1700,- € in Frankreich, but here comes the catch. Inflation grew 14% from year 2007, but wages only 7%. I've seen some article about it today, with all the taxes + inflation the living costs grew 25%. And as I wrote before, wages only 7% up. Over 300,- € monthly you pay more. Simply put, every 7th frog have troubles to live every month. So I don't think they will cease to protest, because they already have nothing to lose.

Many Macron's party MP are being targeted physically. And these are not isolated case, it is something happening daily. Car burned, property vandalized, insult on social media. Three have already resigned. The Interior Minister house was under siege by Yellow Vests and a nephew of our president's mummy was threatened.
I think it is only a matter of time before, one yellow vest who is really struggling to feed himself (not larping as poor) assault a MP and kill him or seriously injure him. There is even some video footage of a MP coming to a rally drunk and getting exchanging insult with the yellow vests.
Last month a group of people was arrested for planning to stab Macron with a ceramic knife. The fool planned it on telegram. And three months ago it was a whole organization arrested for planning terror attacks against musilms. Ok, not os related to Macron, but the tension is in the air.

The situation is still not grim enough too justify large protests, that can sustain themselves for months or even longer. Sure the average joe is under pressure in France but that's nothing new, also compared with other european countries they are still in a somewhat okay position. Things will become more nasty once the upcoming recession hits but that's still 1-3 years away from us. Until then I stick to my original statement that this movement will soon be over.

Basically, China now has a social score, that works like a credit score. If you want to do things, like ride a bus or train, you have to have a good social score. Stuff like being Christian, being anti-Communist, lowers your social score; while being the most loyal to the Communist regime, raises your social score, allowing you to do more things and have more freedom.
