The British gov plans to lower the “skilled” threshold for Indians, Pakistanis and Nigerians. They assume a Nigerian engineer has the same skills as a Polish engineer... even though the Nigerian is willing to work for minimum wage and can’t do basic math.
They are not changing the non-EU migration rules in any meaningful way... actually they want to tweak them a little bit to make it easier for non-Europeans to come to the UK. Also, lots of migration from the Commonwealth goes straight to sham UK “private” unis, which is a gateway for lowly qualified immigrants to minimum wage jobs in the UK.
