This is on the right track, though some of the treason is even more simple than this. Flynn literally took money from Turkey to promote Turkey's foreign policy interests against those of the US as Erdoğan was crushing the coup in 2016.
Rachel Maddow's show yesterday was pretty thorough on this stuff. Flynn is just one example of many corrupt people Trump brought into his circles who were willing to take cash for political influence.
