How painful is getting a tattoo?
How painful is getting a tattoo?
Not as painful as having to live with the embarrassment of a really bad idea for the rest of your life
Depends on where you're getting it.
I'd say the most painful is Face, Ribs, and upper chest if you're slim.
rest is like a pinch, not painful at all
1. Depends on where
2. Depends on how much of a bitch you are.
Seriously, everyone has differentpaintolerance
Damn, I came here to make some smart ass remark like this, but you beat me to it.
Not OP but somewhat related question:
How do I increase my pain tolerance?
I'm a pussy and I hate it.
>anons Lutheran mother found chrome open
Get tats, give blood, develop sciatica.
It's really not that bad. I think the noise of the machine just makes it sound scary.
unironically take up a painful job or hobby and after a few weeks you barely even register it besides the initial rush
Lots of exercise will do it, it generates fresh gaba carrying neurons that act like a natural benzo and endorphins. A low pain threshold can be made higher if you take away the anticipatory anxiety.
Imagine living your whole life out of spite for your parents.
I have one on my foot, getting another one later this week.
I got told the foot was one of the most painful places (Dunno why). For the majority of the tattoo I couldn't feel anything, when it did hurt, the pain was similar to the sensation of a paper cut.
Pain's very subjective, and anywhere close to a bone is meant to be more painful.
>anticipatory anxiety
w0t
not that user but sounds like part of generalised anxiety disorder
like youre about to do something most people have no problem with but youre freaking the fuck out and cant breathe because all you can think about is every way itll go wrong and not a single way itll go right 9 times out of 10
Allow me to spin you a tale.
>be a sensitive little girl
>cry every time I get my eyebrows waxed
>still want a tattoo to mark the memory of my beloved late cat
>absolutely afraid of needles, read up on tattoos to prepare myself
>lots of resources say the spot I'm getting is one of the worst (pectoral)
>go into the shop nervous as hell, clutching a stressball and ready for the pain
>lay down on the table, have some small talk, the artist helps make me feel better about it
>brace myself for the needle
>its not even that bad, more of an annoyance than anything
>sit through it feeling silly for being so afraid
>walk out with my cat's paw on my chest
tl;dr suck it up a little girl got one, you pussy
>rest is like a pinch, not painful at all
t. don't have any ink
durr i'm soo tough
Oh you fags. Tattoos most certainly hurt if you get one that's worth a shit. Try sitting for 5 hours getting a detailed tattoo and not some shitty $50 piece.
Now they aren't extremely painful for most people but to say they don't hurt at all is a huge understatement. It's like getting stung by a bee the entire time.
My experience was similar to this
It was definitely painful but not unbearable.
I remember that the black outline was barely painful at all but when he started coloring it in is when it started to get significantly more painful (still not that bad though)
My advice would be to get something simple for your first time.
Not OP but since we're on a similar topic how painful is getting a stud blasted through the cartilage bit of your ear? Been thinking about it.
Don't get anything "blasted" through your ear.
If you go to any shop that uses guns, walk out. Guns can fuck up your ear. A needle works just fine.
And to answer your question it just stings a bit. It's literally nothing. Takes a long time to heal though.
Lol wrong. Had two 3 hour pieces and one 5 hour piece, and the only reason why I felt more pain in one area than others is because of the location of the tattoo, not the length of how long I've been in the chair.
It hurts A LOT for only a second, then becomes sore and tender for about a week. I got my cartilage pierced in high school, and sometime in college it got infected and I had to let it heal up. Been thinking of getting it done again, but cartilage is especially tricky to heal correctly.
The pain isn't that bad while it's being pierced. The soreness afterward sucks though and it's hard to get comfortable when laying down
It really wasn't worth it imo
may not be the answer you're looking for but I think taking freezing cold showers at least opens you up more to the idea of strong discomfort more and more
