How can you enjoy work of any sort?
Is passion a meme?
Its fun to watch/play
Do something you like, but not something you like too much. Passion is best saved for your hobbies and family.
What sort of question is this? You just get a job you enjoy.
I can't believe people enjoy certain jobs, while others seem more tolerable/enjoyable
make it a competition, you see you're coworker over there show that pussy whose boss
Because the jobs they enjoy are things they enjoy doing, while those ‘tolerable’ jobs are just a way to pay the bills. People are more enthused in a work enviornment they find mentally stimulating and rewarding, usually with some final product in sight while a cash job is just for that, doing a job and making cash.
When I worked in a clinic everyday was fulfilling because I love speaking with people and playing a direct role in their healthcare. I got to see their status slowly improve over time and that was the reward. Now I’m working in a drug store and I could care less because I have no passion for selling pharmaceuticals to people I’ll never see again.
I doubt you meant what you said there. How can you possibly speaking and taking care of strangers when It's just tiring and takes a lot of effort. The second job might pay less but its way easier=enjoyable
How can you possibly enjoy*
If you're doing an entry level job it's hard to get passionate about your work. You need to get a work that challenges your brain and teaches you new things constantly. Then you have something to work for instead of just doing the rounds in a boring entry level job.
Everyone in this thread saying to “just find a job you enjoy” is seriously disillusioned. The key to enjoying your work is enjoying the people you’re working with.
not really because some people like working alone. maybe you like being a freelance programmer or a plumber. there's many different paths to take in working. I might like working with my buddy but if I'm doing landscaping in 100 degree weather I don't like working.
Actually my drug store job pays less but thats only a small part of it. You sound like a teenager with no drive though, I hope for your sake it's just a phase.
I enjoy speaking with people because its just my personality. I care about the wellbeing of those in need and am all for getting paid to do that. Its fullfillment that makes it more enjoyable.
Passion is something you're born with; you got it or you don't
It helps but its far from the most important thing. Thats like suggesting you need friends and a gf to be happy. They help sure but that comes secondhand to the craft.
what makes a job enjoyable is incredibly subjective
I work at an animal shelter, most of my day is cleaning dog shit and getting talked down to by pretentious volunteers or potential adopters. or getting puked on or drolled on and examining dogs covered in fleas and their own shit
but I enjoy it because I get to help save animals and give them love when no one else does, and helping their owners and spreading education. that positive outweighs the negative for me, and therefore makes the job enjoyable for me even though for many it wouldnt be. jobs arent one size fits all
I said you sound like a teenager with no drive but if you are actually autistic that may be what makes you see it differently.
I don't enjoy talking with random people and most people that I know treat me like shit even though I've never done anything wrong to them. So, why should I help others? You know a what a person Is worth based on how they treat you.
ever notice people only have "passion" for the arts, but never for cleaning toilets
That just means the clinic enviornment isnt for you. Thats fine there are millions more where you dont need to interact with people.
Have you considered therapy? It could help.
Finding “passion” is a meme, in a sense. Whenever it’s said, it ignores the reality that when you find something you love, it’ll take difficult work and commitment to be great at it. So, people tend to give up on it, because the phrase makes it seem once you find it, you’ll naturally fit you like it was a piece of the puzzle of your life. But that doesn’t reflect reflect reality. Find something you like enough that even failure is tolerable, because you will fail. To fail is to be human. And when you cross over and transform that failure into success, if it brings you joy and excitement, you’ve begun a tiny spark that might, possibly turn to passion. Gl user
