So did they eventually pay their debts? >What is to become of Greece? Will the euro stay in place the coming decades? >Will Greece not be a shithole anymore? What is the status of Europe and the EU?
I was watching this speech of Varoufakis and basically he is saying the Euro is about to collapse because of reasons I don't really understand. Very nice speaker to listen to, but he seems to be spouting utter bullshit. youtube.com/watch?v=rhSg9X3q2gc
No they will be paying their debts and imposing austerity (high taxes, selling infrastructure to foreigners, limited government services) etc until at least the 2050s that's assuming that the economy never tanks again and they don't have to be bailed out again before that time. Otherwise everything is looking great. Unless you count the migrant crisis.
Noah Mitchell
They fucked up by not taking a quick sharp shock by rejecting the euro, instead buying into a permanent debt spiral where importing millions of immigrants every year still won't keep up with the interest payments. Hedonism is a bitch
David Morgan
In the video he is saying the usual that austerity is going to kill the EU which is true. Higher taxes on an already over taxed population are going to eventually result in revolution and a withdrawal from the Euro.
John Roberts
these armenian subhuman mutts will never pay anything >What is to become of Greece gassing
roaches of Europe belong to the grave
Carter Johnson
wow Ivan, calm down
Camden James
Suck my curved dick niggers. You're getting jack shit from me!
>So did they eventually pay their debts? we'll never pay the debts. this is pretty much commonly accepted right now. but the EU will collapse soon so we'll see where this goes. the debt was created by socialist boomers so if we kill them all maybe it'll be better. >state of the EU in momentary stability (for EU standards that is) that is already beginning to fade. >varoufakis a borderline communist. take what he says with a grain of salt.
Connor Young
and then he says >fascists like Kurtz, Salvini and Bannon will try to take advantage of the situation
Is this the leftist populism I keep hearing about? He didn't really give arguments why they are fascists just how they will take advantage. And although I do agree that they will take advantage of the situation, they are not fascists.
why? Just because when I think of greek I think of the kebab sandwich that you people make? I really can't keep track of all the mediterranean shenanigans going on.
okay, thanks user. How is life in Greece right now then? Is it really such a hellhole as the commies try to tell me that it is?
Cameron Perry
he's right you know
David Reed
shut up sandnigger. in addition to recent third wolrd subhumans and gypsies we have a centuries old issue of literal muttnigger mongrel scumbags that pollute our continent.
give me one reason why literal descendants of literal immigrants from Levant and Caucasus to Europe shouldn't be sprayed with sarin gas. inb4 human rights
Daniel Morris
You are paying it yourself.
Ethan Ross
you arent european
Jason Watson
>So did they eventually pay their debts? No, we're out of the bailout programme in name only >Will Greece not be a shithole anymore? It really depends on whether New Democracy (the party that will probably win the elections) will fulfil their promises like cutting taxes and regulation, fighting crime and sending non-refugees back
>Varoufakis He and Tsipras are the reason why while Greece was heading towards economic recovery in 2014, after the get elected in early 2015 fucked up everything
Ian Bailey
>I'm getting neetbux from the government oh yeah all that paying that I do. Please Greece finance my odulus waifu simulator by paying back debtns
Jack Harris
>why? Just because when I think of greek I think of the kebab sandwich that you people make? I really can't keep track of all the mediterranean shenanigans going on.
No. Because despite being here you still take your facts from (((mainstream media))) and politicians. Your country is going up in flames, your children and women raped to death, shitskins are a majority and sharia law your way of life. And despite all that, you still have the audacity to not only talk shit, but also exclaim pride in your willful and blissful ignorance. Fucking eternally surrendered arrogant pompous unwashed frogs. Sacrebleu!

>okay, thanks user. How is life in Greece right now then? Athens and Salonica are immigrant infested shitholes, the more rural areas are generally pretty good. but everyone invested in politics is also mostly blackpilled. >Is it really such a hellhole as the commies try to tell me that it is? the country is in its current state because of socialism. the current situation is the result of a country shielded from communism by dictators royals and armies for over a century.
Lucas Gonzalez
I hope they won't pay. They voted not to by referendum and they only managed to enter the EU because some banks cheated their figures.
Greece problem is a bank problem and it is not to the people of Greece to pay for it, let alone sell their nationnal assets for it (what the EU would love).
Alexander Robinson
sorry for triggering your feeling, my yellow dawn shillfren
Jose Johnson
>So did they eventually pay their debts? yes >What is to become of Greece? major unemployment, health crisis, suicide rate skyrocketed. but they did pay their debts >Will the euro stay in place the coming decades? the Euro will collapse in January >Will Greece not be a shithole anymore? Greece will be invaded by Turkey. >What is the status of Europe and the EU? dead in the water.
Kevin Cruz
>He didn't really give arguments why they are fascists
Varoufakis wants to "fix" the EU from the inside and thinks any anti-EU politicians could ruin his schemes. Varoufakis also thinks that is he makes enough speeches and influences enough politicians they will eventually adopt his views and implement monetary policies that will save the Eurozone aka loose monetary policy, lower taxes on labor and the working class, infrastructure projects, etc.
The problem is of course the bankers don't give a shit about any of that they are just draining the European people for every ounce of money they can. He's hopelessly deluded. He thinks he can help people through the EU despite knowing how the EU leeches on the working people.
>they are not fascists
They're just centre right. The only way to slander moderate right wing opposiiton is to call them fascist/nazis because otherwise their arguments can be too reasonable to ignore. Varoufakis knows this and even complains about it in that speech. Any reasonable person knows that the EU/Eurozone is fucking them over and Le Pen and Salvini can play to that. They only way to stop people from supporting them is to call them Nazis.
Joseph Peterson
Thanks user, they seem in pretty much the same boat as the French then. Except the French weren't protected by dictators nor royals.
>No country has likely ever been as thoroughly scrutinized as Greece. Salaries and pensions were cut and taxes were raised as part of a brutal program of reforms. Greece will be paying back debts until at least the year 2060.
So in 42 years Greece will finally have the debts paid off assuming no economic downturn happens between now and then in which case it will have to be restructured again.
Benjamin Stewart
>Greece problem is a bank problem No Greece's problem is the Greek people. Even if the banks never cheated or we never joined the euro or none of the scandals like Siemens happened we would still get in an economic crisis at some point. As the other poster stated it's because of socialism
You see back in the 80s PASOK won the elections and they started implementing all sorts of regulations, rising taxes, giving trade unions more power, doubling the public sector, creating all sorts of welfare programmes and decreasing the authority of the police. Because of that and some other reasons the left managed to get hold of various Greek institutions like universities and therefore created what a notable politician calls ideological hegemony of the left.
The sooner the Greeks realise that it's our fault for getting addicted to socialism and ruining our own country the better
Landon Young
>the country is in its current state because of socialism. the current situation is the result of a country shielded from communism by dictators royals and armies for over a century. while the intelligencia of the left reinged free in the down low, so it has indoctrinated much of the populace

3rd world subhumans can't trigger me

Putting them in the euro was a mistake. Either the EU should have invested in some kind of balkan union do that place may be assisted in unfucking itself slowly or the greeks currency be left as it was/put together with an italian/iberian parallel currency to the northern euro.
>January That is pretty optimist.
David Brown
QE ends in January., and you know as well as I do that it's the thing that's keeping Europe afloat. prepare your anus kraut, we're in for a happening of gigantic proportions.

Show us some Greek memes and we'll forgive you your debts how about that
I come from one of the most native Europeans ethnic groups, armenian worm.
as long as southron mongrel filth stays alive no true European man can rest >Greece's problem is the Greek people this.
you can only go so far with inbred low intelligence levantine dysgenic garbage
Isaac Morris
It would be strange for things to not decay slowly, as if there arent the worlds experts of kicking cans down the road of doom at work. Now if it happens, the media holds an admirable pokeface.
Juan Hill
This guys is speaking the truth.
t. used to live in Greece I also have this thought that since Greece was basically occupied for its entire existence up until barely 100 years ago it has been common culture to not support the government.
Eli Allen
How is Thessaloniki these days? What about the richer part of Athens? Kolonaki? Piraeus ?
Nicholas Davis
The Greeks are responsible for western culture. They can run up the check as much as they like.

Oh it's that fucking guy again...
And yet still infinitely better than your 3rd world country full of subhuman drunks, terrorists, and asian mutts.
Russians and albos are some of the worst immigrants we have here in terms of chimping and crime and your women are toilet cleaners, prostitutes, and junkies. You all need to go back.
Jayden Lewis
Fuck off mutt get a life Not exactly but still true. It only counts for taxes though cause that¨s the only thing the turks made us do. We are not going to pay a fake debt like the one Germany had after ww1 we were sitting here minding our own business until you Frogs tea eaters and burger genociders started attacking our culture and economy off course it¨s the kikes fault for all that is happening but you are gonna be banned from entering this country until you delete this fake debt you bestowed upon us.
Thomas Price
you arent european no matter how native and pure you claim to be.
Nicholas Martinez
Russians in Greece mostly own hotels and travel agencies you fucking retard.
I dont think that Russians should even live in Greece since the cilmate there is no good for proper Northerners
but guess what? neither should the greeks.
go back to armenia
Robert Ross
It's fine but they are all gonna collapse if we don't leave the eurozone soon enough
Leo Clark
>you Frogs tea eaters and burger genociders started attacking our culture and economy funny, I thought it were Greek politicians who wanted to join the EU and the greek people who voted in socialists who kept expanding the government and worked together with bankers to trick them into the EU.
But I guess (you) must know better since you're a greek yourself
Grayson Nguyen
oh so "native european" means you are a fuckin retarded albo in russia.kys
Christian Russell
You seriously talk about the Greeks and you fucking seriously blame the Greek people your country as an example elected since 1945 constantly faggot socialists it's not like I cannot see it at least we got an american dictatorship which jailed all commies, and we still talk about our country and are proud of it I have never seen a french man being proud of it. And talking about entering the EU there never was a golden dawn back then there were only 2-4 groups ND Pasok KKE and other faggots I forget everyone would have entered the EU there was no other choice now that we have a choice all the smart people left for Europe and the Americas/Australia and we are left with some retards who want gibs to survive and I don't blame them really.
The only people I accept banter from is western europeans, and maybe a couple of non-european countries like australia and japan since those are literally the only countries that are better to live in than greece despite all the economic downturn we had, most of the world is shitholes compared to here.
tl;dr ALL the rest of you amerilard/slavshit/arabic trash can go to hell for all I care your comments mean nothing and I couldn't give less of a shit if I'm white or not.
Joseph Ramirez
The Greeks wanted fun instead of a worthwhile future. That's what they got, it's called hedonism.
Dominic Campbell
We wanted fun instead of a future funny coming from the country which was in the wrong side of history for every major historical event and still not antisemitic
Matthew Jackson
Russia is the second world by definition, dumb mutt. >go back to armenia >Also a third world country That your ancestors escaped from*
Only after Ivan III introduced a few Byzantine state mechanics to Russia it became less free and prosperous. A mere coincidence? I think not. >if I’m white or not grekoids are not even human. negroid ancestry you see

>The Greeks wanted fun instead of a worthwhile future.
SO DID YOU IN THE 1960S NIGEL REMEMBER THE MCMILLAN ERA? "YOU'VE NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD" THE SLOGAN WENT. (((THEY))) MADE YOU BORROW, SPEND, BORROW AGAIN AND THEN SPEND AGAIN.
also, stop crying over being cucked by your own politicians. It is very well possible to uncuck yourself in a democracy.
Jaxson Roberts
>fake debt what does that even mean you mong? this "dindu nuffin" mentality is what keeps getting us into trouble. what we need to do is stop the monopoly of the two parties over our parliament and politics and adopt a more right wing economic system. all else is schizo talk.
Mason Russell
>THE ONLY SOLUTION IS ANOTHER MILITARY JUNTA funny coming from an anarchy-ball
Nathan Moore
Damn. Never thought Id hear this kind of realization from a Greek. Hope your vision spreads like a blazing wildfire.
Joshua Ortiz
>what we need to do is stop the monopoly of the two parties over our parliament and politics and adopt a more right wing economic system I will also add that the triptych "Πατρίς, Θρησkεία, Οιkογένεια" (Fatherland, Religion, Family) should be adapted by every Greek. We have the great advantage of knowing where progressivism leads by just looking at the state of western Europe. Most people are still leaning towards conservatism but traditionalism needs to have a more active role attacking progressivism at every instance.
Zachary Edwards
>and adopt a more right wing economic system
This.
>stop the monopoly of the two parties over our parliament
I would normally agree but Mitsotakis ND is actually pretty based if you listen to his platform.
Owen Wood
>Mitsotakis ND is actually pretty based Mitsokatis is correct about a lot of things about the economy but then he goes on and promises people handouts. How the heck is he going to pay for these handouts while also decreasing taxes and still in debt? It seems like a return to old party politics.
Also while it's pretty good that he will cancel the university asylum and will be tough on crime some of his statements and planned policies make it clear that he's isn't a proper conservative.
For example he wants to introduce sex educations so children can learn about sex and sexual and gender orientation. This stuff is something a leftist party should talk about, not the leader of a centre-right wing party. I hope there are still some proper right-wingers in that party
Robert Brooks
>So did they eventually pay their debts? In the process of it. >What is to become of Greece? We found massive amounts of natgas south of Crete. Also, all Israeli and Cypriot natgas going to EU is going through us. Take a guess. >Will the euro stay in place the coming decades? Most propably, even if I don't like it. >Will Greece not be a shithole anymore? We were never a bona-fide shithole, we were always somewhere between first and second world. We will graduate to full-fledged first world once natgas cash starts flowing. >What is the status of Europe and the EU? The EU is a necessity, even if Germany keeps chimping out and trying to rule over it, everyone understands why the EU exists. It will remain, but it might become a bit looser.
South of Crete? No way. But, there's alot of evidence there's even more gas between us and Cyprus. Now, we have an island there that would make that gas ours, but the turks decline that island even exists. Even though people live there. Also, they're trying to contest Cypriot gas, with little success.
We ain't making shit yet, even though everyone knew gas and oil exist in our seas since the 80s. They only 'found out' about it in 2011. And since then, the process has been so slow, we won't see any money before 2025. The good news is, even with the most pessimistic estimates, there's enough combined oil and natgas in our non-contested seas to make us into a literal southern Norway.
be sure not to fuck up like the Dutch did and do a proper Norway with money going into a state investment fund instead of the treasury.
Hunter Price
It depends on who's gonna be in power when the money starts flowing. But I think many greeks learned our lesson with the left and the boomers that got the left into power for so long are starting to die off as well.
