In the case of Portland at least, they have no laws against public camping, so if someone wants to pitch a tent for the next 18 months on the sidewalk in front of your house, it's perfectly legal. It was to the globalists, what amounts to a subsidized-version of the industrial revolution in America but without anything resembling worker's rights. Trump made it more difficult on their manufacturers to get steel and aluminum among other things, basics in the business that allow them to cut corners with 50s era ease. Automation requires schooling and additional costs, China almost made it to where that could have been a viable alternative for labor but they don't have another 10 or 20 years unrestricted, that they'd need to do it.
