TL:DR he can't adress the JQ, as from his world view evrything what makes the JQ relevant is "conspiracy theory"
There are several reasons for this, these are as follows (in no particular order):
Firstly, from his point of view the JQ is "just" a convenient narrative to blame personal short-comings and to some degree he does have point. However, it's akin to the whole "wash your dick" stick in the sense that yeah there is something to it, but thats not really the whole picture.
Secondly, the level of abstraction where the JQ becomes are problem is on a tribalistic level, different cultures clashing against each other, different conceptions of what is morally "good" competing against each other. However, in his world view, the emphasis is on the primacy of the individual, and as such tribalism is literally the biggest ill he can conceive, and as such needs to be ostracized, not understood.
Thirdly, talking about he JQ in any serious matter from a scholarly fashion is career suicide, ask Kevin B. MacDonald.
Fourthly, his modernist "fact based" world view, does not allow him to see the interconnection between ideations and truth. The hilarity of it all, is that he's willing to accept this in the political realm, but not in our understanding of reality...
Fifthly, his complete disregard for postmodern thinking lazily bunching it into "cultural marxism" allows him to continue to use psychoanalysis to undermine any criticism by focusing on the psychological motivations of the speaker, instead of the content of what is being uttered (akin to anons here calling everyone who disagrees a shill or how feminists screech incel etc.)
I am sure there are more aspects, but that is what it appears to be to me. In other words; a combination of a world view that does not allow for conceiving of people with tribal motivations, bullet proof mechanism of self-rationalization combined with economic self-interest not to "say something stupid".

As pointed out, academics are highly over-socialized so for them it is a given that they do not draw the "wrong" conclusion. However, the average self-respecting Western men is still not (e.g. Trump election, Brexit, Yellow vests etc.), at least if you were lucky enough not to attend university.
