Well that higher purpose should be something like family, your community, and your nation itself. To serve those and raise them up is being successful. A simple example would be if your nation is in immediate danger, you join the military and push your country towads victory. That example isnt very applicable to our current situation but its a clear example. Pure self-interest or apathy is the enemy of success and the prevelance of these two things is the reason western civilization is collapsing.

Working towards a nation in which you and your children are safe. Becoming rich is not bad but the way you become rich should be smart in the long term.
For example importing niggers and is a very bad idea if you want to reduce violent crime so in this case closing borders and possibly even deporting some of those who belong to Africa would be a good decision. And yet many people make a killing by turning the real estate they own into refugee centers and getting thousands from the government every month as a compensation. I believe this to be one of the bad ways to get rich - even if you end up with a lot of money, your nation will no longer be safe for you or your children. What good does money do if you get killed?
