I'm an alcoholic. I don't understand how others aren't alcoholics. I see the same tendencies I have in everyone when they drink.
The difference between them, and me is I wake up the next morning after a good long night, and take another shot to cure my hangover. They just deal with it, and go on with their lives till we meet again the next weekend.
