Traveling makes mundane things interesting. Having breakfast at home is a mindless action were you just go to the fridge and grab whatever, whereas when you are abroad, having breakfast is a mini adventure in itself where you have to search for a nice place within your budget. Also, getting there is a way to explore an unknown place.

That said, women are more drawn to traveling because they usually have less hobbies or things to do with their time, so they get bored if they stay at home.
