Roommates banning my bf

Well, if he's not willing to attempt to make good with her roommate then she shouldn't bother being with someone who doesn't understand basic conflict resolution. I wouldn't even momentarily consider dating someone who was so defensive of their right to make racist jokes without consequence that they refuse to find common ground or even bullshit their way through an apology just to solve a giant conflict.

Additionally, if her roommate isn't willing to entertain a conversation about it and meet with a party that is fully willing to communicate and would rather scream and blast music and act like a child then she should find another roommate. When conflicts get to a point like this then deciding who was right and who was wrong is not the adult thing to do; finding a way to exist amicably in the same space without unnecessary aggression is. They can both hate each other's guts if they want but there has to be peace in the house and people have to behave with some modicum of civility.

If one or both parties is unwilling to do that then one or both parties need to be left behind. Period. If "just break up" is what you read in my post either you didn't read it or your reading comprehension is trash.

I have a decent social life in a house I rent to a handful of thoughtful, responsible adults. I'm not saying that people are never oversensitive to jokes and/or overreact sometime when satire hits them close to home.
