Carbs existing in nature are sooo much different than processed carbs. Process carbs are digested too quickly and cause high blood sugar which is pretty much bad for everything in your body, especially terrible if done frequently through the day. Especially the kind here in the US where sugar is typically added. A slice of honest whole grain bread or sourdough is decent for energy. Once you add sugars, more bread, rice and other highly processed carbs to the diet, on a regular basis your body will be in A perpetual state of high blood sugar thus slowly deteriorating. High blood sugar just means your blood has a percantage of sugar in it which makes your blood less effective. This is why diabetics lose extremeties i think - by the time the blood has reached the toes, it is mostly sugar and it no longer performs the healing and repairing functions it is supposed to.
