I'm trying to get to a point where I can read 50-100 pages in a sitting without getting bored.
Apparently the internet, vidya and smartphones have REALLY fucked up our reward system.
I was surprised to learn that many people into "dopamine fasts" gave up or severely limited rich foods and overly-stimulating music in order to achieve meaningful dopamine payoff from completing healthful activities. based on this... I was planning on cleansing my life of all nigger kike music, (((Netflix))) and Talmudvision for the new year.
Also going to severely limit smartphone and internet usage.
Anyone here have experience with dopamine fasts or reorientation? How'd it turn out for you?
Dude you are more on the right track than you can possibly imagine. All that TV, music (yes, ALL music), and Netflix stimulation does is possess your mind and deaden your heart and spirit.
Combine your plan with actual fasting sunrise to sunset, read scripture (OT/NT and Qur'an) and pray for guidance and you'll be amazed at what will happen.

I've done it. It's very difficult, probably more difficult than food fasting. Every time I get in the car I switch in the radio... Then I remember I'm not supposed to listen to music. Turn it off. Blast the A/C or Heating. Wait what am I doing, I don't need a perfect climate, some suffering is ok. Try to not look at flashy advertisements, or drive too wild. All that spikes dopamine. Phone alerts are awful, even the little message ding can trigger dopamine release. Socializing increases seratonin though so you don't want to to cut it out. It's just difficult.

would classical music still be acceptable? or must you live like a complete aesthete for the effect to be significant?
