Also, these people are constantly monitoring their social media accounts of normal speed runners and are banning them from attending events way in advanced.

I've been intentionally sleeping only 5 hours a night for about three years. It comes with massive crashes and burnouts. The productivity and creativity that comes with sleep deprivation is strange. You brain definitely begins to make connections that aren't there, which includes paranoia, schizo-ish symptoms, and egomania. Personally see great benefit to my creative projects but my body becomes a wreck. Massive amounts of caffeine and other stimulants are required to maintain 5-hour sleep schedule for months at a time. I could see it driving many people insane and pride myself on holding it together relatively well (still went insane a few times)
