Why should I donate a pint of blood for free when it's resold to hospitals for $180-$300?

Why should I donate a pint of blood for free when it's resold to hospitals for $180-$300?

I dunno. You can sell it yourself.

>what is a farm

Canada already make a documentary about this. It was called Jupiter Ascending staring Milk Kunny and Chan Potato

I always wondered this. I'm O neg and for some reason a hospital learned it and called me. I asked them if they would pay me. They wouldn't. I asked them if the patient who receives my blood pays for it. They said he does. I told them thank you and hung up.

The money received when it's sold to the hospitals offsets the collection costs, which is more expensive than you think when you factor in transportation, lab testing, medical professionals drawing the blood, etc.

where does the 180-300$ go...to a good cause???

This. Free enterprise.

i do it with sperm

Murican (((medicine)))

Why is it ok that they get paid but not the donor?

t. red cross employee

Fun fact; the Red cross paint all their logos with real human blood

So basically you are charging me GOLD STAR PRICES for an overpriced cooler and that nurse who missed my vein 20 times. the testing is done on microchips and takes a few seconds.

because selling your own blood is antisemitic. the bloodmerchant has to collect it for you.

>which is more expensive than you think
kike reasoning

Attached: 1454653535996.png (1000x668, 27K)

What a shit country if they do that in Canada.

Because, do you really want to live in a world where when you need a pint of blood, the doctor says "Here you go, this was sold to us by a desperate poor person with very strong monetary incentive to lie about diseases and drug use, and our tests are only 99% accurate"

Because if the donor got paid $200 then the $350 cost to the patient would be $550.

Unironically this, but we don't collect blood in Florida.

Pretty sure legally you can't

You get paid in cookies.

Donating blood has been linked to cancer and even moreso with donating plasma

they never tell you HOW it's more expensive. just sit in ignorance goy, let us think for you.

but think yourself it's a glorified ice cooler and a test that costs around 20 cents. then it goes in a fridge where it might cost up to $12 in feed before it's put into some disclosure-signing idiot's arm.

Because it often times goes to people whose lives will be saved (like yours would be if you were injured) and the fact is a lot of shit needs to happen to your blood before its used. It needs to be stored and packaged. It needs to be collected from a site by trained medical staff, etc. Also people do make money off it, like literally every other supply chain. Though the other user is right. If the idea of letting a middle man profit off your donation bothers you, you can just sell your blood. I have heard plasma alone is gonna net you like $50 or some such shit (not having done it myself, topkek).

Savage and based

50 dollars is worthless, especially when it gives you cancer

I thought you were socialist country like mine, dog fucker. Here you get paid to donate blood but they still don't have enough because here they are Super strict. Unless your blood is 99% pure or more you will be told "nope".

I'd donate blood but they found tiny trace of weed and I said I smoke weed once a month. They told me that I have to be sober for 12 months before I could donate. It doesn't take a year for any medicine or drug to get out of your bloodstream but they are nazis here when it comes to requirements for donating.

The money goes to handling, transporting, and storage of the blood not the blood directly.

Usually a blood drive location requires rental or agreement with the host.

Usually you require the services of multiple phlebotomists for draws, along with authenticators, and a registered nurse to oversee collection.

Blood needs to be packaged, cooled, and tested, and not all of it is going to be usable which must then be disposed as biological waste.

Whole blood also can be separated and stabilized with various chemicals, spun for platelets or plasma which require different storage. Also blood typing is important.

Costs for lawsuits need to enter into the overhead for those units which end up diseased and transfused even after testing.

There are quite a few things that go into cost overheads for blood products. Also, most whole blood has a limited shelf life.

I'll drink your blood instead, cuck.
Give me your kid's foreskin, too.
And don't forget that phat placenta.

cuz when you dumbass gets hit by a drunk driver or you strike an artery or a vein in an accident the hospital only has the blood that was donated

i don't think you will care about how much it costs then

Attached: 1499608960664.jpg (804x743, 93K)

>donate blood
Enjoy your leukemia...

HEY,
Where THE FUCK is my placenta?

>Should I do the ethical thing when I could make a profit from it

Sure, unless you`re Jewish.

>cum in bag
nigger

>Usually you require the services of multiple phlebotomists for draws, along with authenticators, and a registered nurse to oversee collection.

you mean that lazy trainee bitch and her boss who spends most of his job hiding from bruised angry donors?

>stabilized
whoop! I'm done. you wanna formaldehyde me again

If ethics mattered they wouldn't charge the patient for the blood

Imagine donating blood and it being put into a negro.

Attached: 1539992293420.jpg (493x449, 43K)

Because somewhere along the line you're making a nigger whiter.
Thats reason enough surely?

i don't like the idea of donating blood because it only takes one HIV positive gay guy to give blood and one lazy or sick nurse to not change the syringe to kill you.

>you mean that lazy trainee bitch and her boss who spends most of his job hiding from bruised angry donors?

You should actually look at the titles and certifications of the people who are taking your blood.

>whoop! I'm done. you wanna formaldehyde me again

Certain blood products require stabilizers to maintain their longevity and allow for storage and long-term use. If you simply just bled into a vial, it would coagulate and be useless for transfusion after a short time.

I don't. In typical Dutch fashion the blood trade is 'privatised' but there is a government mandated monopoly for a company named 'Sanquin' which pays hundreds of thousands per year to all board of directors members so fuck them. I'd do it for free of it was a non profit/volunteer organisation and I'd do it if it wasn't but I'd get paid for it, but fuck giving away my literal life blood for free so some corrupt fags can make bank off of it.

Off topic but this is happening everywhere in the Netherlands, they call it 'semi-govenmental organisations' and then they have the gall to call other countries corrupt.

T.serial killer

Really though how many americans speak like that

They don`t at least in civilized parts of world.

I used to work at a place that screens blood for the Red Cross. The reason they sell it to hospitals for hundreds of dollars is because the instruments used and the reagents used in the testing the blood for STDs are very expensive. The place I worked at was on the smaller side even and they spent over $30 million a year on reagents alone. We screened for around 15 different things and each assay has its own set of expensive reagents.

Hospitals also sell foreskins for profit as well.

Circumcision is a multi-billion dollar industry, and a single infant foreskin can be worth upwards of $100,000 after it's fully utilized.

Most of us were literally robbed at birth.

None of whom would have jobs without the donors

Trully the jew of countries at times. Yet our standard of living keeps the masses quiet enough I suppose.

>america isn't civilised

I will admit we have a feral nigger problem.

>Why should I donate a pint of blood for free when it's resold to hospitals for $180-$300?
I agree, blood should be sold.
There would never be blood shortages again if blood was sold.
By buying blood, the blood banks can be more picky about who they buy blood from.

How fucking fat are you that a nurse can't find your vein? Fucking fatty.

>i don't like the idea of donating blood because it only takes one HIV positive gay guy to give blood and one lazy or sick nurse to not change the syringe to kill you.

Whole blood collection kits, blood draw kits, and angiocaths are all individually packaged sterile. It is proper procedure to only open and use kits at the direct time of draw while confirming the right pt. etc. To fuck that up would require multiple and consecutive instances of malpractice.

>can be worth upwards of $100,000 after it's fully utilized.
>heres your bill for your childs circumcision
fucking kikes

I used to donate blood, then I found out that over 90% of it goes to non-whites. Turns out when a white person needs blood, theu ask family first, and they all trip over each other to donate. I don't want my productive blood going into some nigger or beaner. It probably carries all the oxygen while their non-white red blood cells sleep in and collect gibs.

In Qc, Canada, it's an NPO that collects blood, so I don't mind giving it for free. The permanent collection centers are very safe and as pleasant as it can be.

Giving 1 hour of my time every 56 days isn't much when I know it's virtually all for the receivers.

I actually called the red cross when I was in high school and asked about the licences and whatever else they need to receive and sell blood/blood derivatives and got transferred a few times until they ultimately got super uncomfortable and refused to answer any more questions

I sold plasma and the spic phlebotomist stabbed me all the way through the vein, then fished around inside my arm for two minutes (felt like an eternity). After my arm looked like an uncooked pork sausage, she gave up..."Ser, I need to try your other arm." I'm a crazy fuck so I let her...all for $50. I had to feed my kids. Now I'm employed again and I pray to God I never have to do that shit again.

Wow the volunteers and the donated supplies taking free blood from volunteers is sure expensive

>By buying blood, the blood banks can be more picky about who they buy blood from.

This makes lying a huge issue if you create a market for premium blood products. "Do you have sex with men?" Yes. "Sorry you can't give blood."

"Do you have sex with men? for $75" "Y...No. "Okay, take a seat over there." (and hope you don't give someone HIV).

This. The moment people can't afford their hideous hatchback cars and vinex huts, Rutte will be lynched before dinner. And we Dutchmen dine very early

public nurse quality in a socialist country like ours would probably not shock you. probably.

>The whole system runs on altruism.
>t. Brainlet

The organizations that take blood donations are typically nonprofit.

Yes, they sell the blood, but that's so that they can cover the various costs they have: hiring nurses to draw the blood, renting locations to draw blood at, buying the supplies to draw blood(syringes, bags, tubes, etc), and provided food and drinks to those who donate. They need to cover these costs somehow.

OP if you really want hospitals to get the blood directly, call around and see if your local hospital will draw your blood themselves.

let it also be known that dutch eat extremely fast and expect people to talk and eat at the same time. also they put "not for eating" food on the table sometimes, like "decorational" food. and a weird ONE TOPPING law like wtf.

blue area = NO GO ZONE

Attached: ZONE OF NORMIES.jpg (602x339, 56K)

You forgot to ask the race of the phlebotomist

looks like someone has a plan.

Nothing wrong with that. They might startto experience unfamiliar feelings of empathy or restraint, brought about by my white blood, or the desire to eat household animals and drive badly, brought about by your dumb chink blood.

The real heart wrencher is imagining you get nigger blood.

Are you telling us that some of us are okay and should stay out of the biblebelt tomorrow? Thanks ausbro.

You are describing the way milk is packaged, tested, sterilized, refrigerated and transported. Even shorter shelf life. The cow needs tending to thou.

Kek, that's the Dutch bible belt, they're pretty based although they're not Catholic. But they do eat fast. People in the more rural areas tend to do so. My fiancée is from a rural area and she eats like someone wants to steal her food or something and will get annoyed when I don't match her pace. Only after years did I succeed to convince her to eat with taste and not haste.

Never heard of the signs and the one topping law btw. Pic related is one of my sandwiches, they are on like 8 layers of toppings

you don't want your blood to end up in some negro, do you?

>Implying both of our countries don't give free healthcare to niggers just because

I think he might mean Broodje Kaas and he is right that it is the only proper wagekantoorslave lunch.

Yes it's also disgusting. Brown bread with lukewarm floppy cheese and margarine (yes in fact I can believe it's not butter) kept in a moist plastic bag. I always just make a tosti or make something like gyros or whatever and take it with me. Fuck normie wagie lunches.

A pint of blood is worth more than a gallon of gold, my friend.

Attached: 15660.jpg (300x185, 12K)

Why not, they already do that with plasma

Spoopy if true

Some resell it to weirdos who drink blood, to satanists etc. The blood which you stupidly gave for free because you thought it is going to save lifes. There is no blood sortage.

Fake and gay

Blood donations are like recycling in Canada. They make us SORT the recycling into paper and plastic/metal or they don't take it. So I am supposed to donate free labour to a for-profit recycling center??? Fuck that. I just throw everything into garbage now.

>You are describing the way milk is packaged

In specialized containers based on the preservation method required for service? Whole blood, fresh frozen plasma, platelets, etc. all have differing storage requirements.

>tested

How many specific bacterial and viral strains is milk tested for? Do you know what reagents are used in testing vs. blood? Which are necessary when milk hits stomach acid vs. being introduced to directly to the circulatory system via an IV catheter. Hint: Viruses and bacteria should not be present in the blood supply.l

>sterilized

Milk isn't sterilized. Pasteurization is far less rigorous than that. Why do you think milk spoils?

>refrigerated

There are vastly different requirements. If you put milk into a too cold fridge you might be annoyed at ice crystals. If blood products form precipitate, you kill someone.

> transported.

Again different methods with more exacting standards by miles.

Plasma is filtered until you just have a single protein left.

Whole blood is viruses and all.

>The money goes to handling, transporting, and storage of the blood not the blood directly.

This is true.
But in my country the upper management of the "non-profit" organization that has a state sanctioned monopoly on all blood donations all make between 200k and 300k euro's per year not counting bonuses and pensions (so probably 300-400k everything included)

I know Australian are the kings of banter.
But none of that made any sense whatsoever.

I have O negative blood and am also negative for other pathogens which make my blood valuable for NICU applications (or so they say). I wrote a nice letter to the red cross saying that, at the very least they should make it worth my time to come in and donate, since my blood is allegedly so rare and valuable. The screening process is agony, sitting there for an hour as they ask you a hundred different questions about your sex life and travel habits (I'm married, monogamous and haven't left the country for years). I told them that the prescreening process is too tedious, and they should have trustworthy people 'fasttracked' so that the visit can be over in a half hour instead of almost two hours. I have not received an answer. I guess they don't want to pay me, the cattle, for my sacrifice, or even make that sacrifice a bit easier and less time consuming.

Fuck that, I'm never going back.

why would that matter you tard

When I go to the blood bank it's 80-90% old white boomers like me. Time to step up gen-x and millennial faggots.

How does that work? My family member needs blood so I instantly volunteer the max amount. Do they test it in the hospital or what? they can't just do the transfusion without testing despite it being family.

you do get paid lmao this is how blacks get weed money in the cities lmao

>having my O blood save a nigger just so the government can increase my taxes to pay for their medical procedures, and then thirty years of unemployment and children
fuck off

They can't fast track you because there are legal requirements to ask the questions you are given. The Red Cross or blood bank does not control what assessment they are legally required to perform. You are only negative for pathogens at the time of the last test, as new blood has to be tested when taken. O- is a universal donor, but cross matched to the patient is always considered best.

O- makes up about 8% of the blood base, so it is rare, but 1 in 15 isn't THAT special. The vast majority of people (85%) are Rh+ so the +/- part doesn't matter for them, and O type blood itself is the most common.

You think labs and phlebotomists are free?

lol made me laugh

Big if true

This is the exact reason. It used to be legal to pay donors.

how about instead of paying the donor since situations like could happen why not let them have a tax credit or write-off instead?

O neg here. I will never donate my blood because fuck them.
