As an IT pro, I think human-tier AI is probably coming slower than you think. Your entire body is completely saturated with nerves. The conscious rational mind is slow, but only because it is the master script integrating and processing the data from countless 1000's of other automated, self-correcting programs. After the nervous system, you still have to account for the memory and intelligence of the cells and genes. It will take a good while for human programmers to build software capable of out-competing the flexibility, intelligence, and adaptability of the human mind and body. When they do it will be revolutionary, no doubt, but we are still not as close as many think.

Artificial intelligence is already here. Alpha Zero can master any game beyond human levels just by giving it the rules and letting it play with itself (giggidy) and there is no reason why it can not simply be scaled up.
Emotional intelligence will come later for sure, so we might not see 'human level' intelligence for another decade, but practical problem solving and moving through physical space has already been achieved.
