>durr just get a trade bro
this is why Ameriburger economy is so shit-- 30k to be a fucking minimum wage mechanic monkey.
Durr just get a trade bro
>not getting an apprenticeship
Don't go into a trade for the money
Are you fucking retarded or have you just not done any research? I'm getting into a trade after I graduate highschool (I'm a senior so I'm almost there). Trades are in very high demand right now because most people are going to college and getting useless degrees. Large amounts of college graduates are unemployed. Most of them say that they wish they had done something else. They are literally drowning in debt. Fuck college.
This.
Watch a bunch of car youtube videos, work on your own shitty car and get an entry level lube tech position
>Hurr only 30k a year
That's only when you first start out. You move up as you gain more experience.
Oh and there are also lots of college grads working fast food also. Yay college!
any retard can turn a fucking wrench, dipshit
>gee I wonder why there aren't more high-paying ditch-digging jobs.
lmfao, you don't need to go to school to become a mechanic.
Fucking retards thinking you need school for every job.
Auto mechanics need to be certified to work on many parts of cars theses days, and that certification is worth a lot of money.
Uncertified mechanics fix flats.
trades pay 40k median salary w/ experience and fuck up your joints + health, work with alcoholics and mexicans all day, high risk of injury and death. Any humanities degree is better than a tradie job.
I got my certs for around 2 grand each. My oil and gas license cost me about 4 grand for a month course in NH
I just graduated college with a decent job and no debt. And even I want to go to do a trade instead of this white collar crap.
My advice to you is try out the trades first, via apprenticeship. Avoid trade school if you can, unless it’s part of the PAID apprenticeship. OP is just showing some ITT tech scam school.
And most people in trades I know went to vocational high schools for free or just started out as a helper/laborer and got certified as they went. I don't know why you would need a diploma for that
>Auto mechanics need to be certified to work on many parts of cars theses days
weird I didn't get certified and magically I have fixed cars for money. have you considered that you are just a retard making excuses?
thanks Mexicans!
if mechanics made $70K a year nobody would use them, you fucking idiot.
>any dipshit can fix a car.
>prices are low because competition.
Those statistics are always misleading because they usually group the senior guy’s pay with the grunt helper pay. Furthermore they don’t account for overtime, a lot of tradesman can break into six figures from working overtime.
Dude to to a dealer ship and let them pay to train you. Be smart find an apprenticeship.
Different field but same logic. Some friends of mine are nurses. Some hospitals will pay for nursing school if you commit to working for them after you graduate. Same thing is likely in automotive. Check BMW, Lexus dealerships
Most mechanics I know make good money. Try again
Ameri urged economy is deep throating the rest of the world.
those stats are highly misleading. Just Bill Gates and Mark Fuckerburg alone can skew those stats.
Lots of range/variability.
As a semi mechanic. Places don't hire a mechanic with a degree. Maybe a ma and pa shop will but not a shop worth it's salt.
Thanks to the JEWS
They start at 60k+
>doing your trade at some hoighty toighty vocational school
Kill yourself while trying to support your family
So, that is about 1/3rd of the cost of your typical bachelor's degree and you are pretty much guaranteed to get a job in your field, as opposed to becoming a burger flipper or barista
Fuck. Laborors start at around 28/hr to sweep and fuck around with bobcats and lifts all day.
You're a fucking pussy, I make well over 100k with no student debt and im fit because I actually use my body. Deal with it.
is this of an apprenticeship? U can't get a trade by sitting in a classroom.
The curry munchers and chinks think you can though.
Maybe try being a mechanic for something that pays better like aerospace.
i knew this korean guy that said "im going to school to be a mechanic"
he didnt understand you need an apprenticeship, korean learn to be a tradesman at a school with no on job experience. hahahahahahhaha
Are you retarded? Go find a master mechanic looking for an apprentice. 15-20 bucks an hour easily.
>Minimum wage
What? While some trade jobs are shit, ive still regularly seen both entry level and 3+ year trade jobs of all fields pay over double minimum wage as the lowest average, and those are the shit ones.
College is not for everyone, not just because some people aren't smart but because theres a big difference in being physically mechanically inclined and being able to sit through a classroom to learn non physical material, aswell as having to take classes outside your field of interest which also offputs alot of people.
You can make a good living off of trades, bit its also not for everyone. Another big factor is while you shouldn't hate your job, a job Should be to fund a life you love, not be the life you love itself.
Damnit, we need some of you smart kids to sneak into professional positions in academia and fight the commies.
You are missing the point, a humanities degree is literally worthless. It has no employment value whatsoever anymore. You might as well just be a NEET for 4 years and then go find a job somewhere, you will do just as well as a college grad anymore
I went to a technical college for 2 years and paid $2500 tuition a year in an industry that had a 98% hire rate out of school. There are hundreds of other trades/careers that do the same. Any faggot who goes to university for some bullshit they can't afford needs to pay the toll and learn the hard way.
>a lot of tradesman can break into six figures from working overtime.
Yep. Most industries require a bit of flexibility when things pick up. Pretty much every interviewer in any non bullshit office assistant type job will ask you in an interview "are you okay with working overtime?" you say yes, you're about 80% there on getting hired.
>>> implying you can pay off a 35,000 loan at 6.8% interest making 40,000 a year
>Just Bill Gates and Mark Fuckerburg alone can skew those stats
>I have no idea how median works
>Denver
That's your problem
It's literally cheaper to go to school in Wyoming as a non-resident
I think the >implication is you don't need the 35K student debt if you do what he suggested.
