The problem with flags is that it leads to everyone being judged by their flag rather than the content of their comment. It's arguably even worse than a forum with permanent IDs in some ways.
This is barely even Jow Forums anymore, it's just politics-flavored Jow Forums. Don't even waste your time. Posting with my flag or indeed any flag here gets predictable and boring comments and nicknames ("Kim," "Hirohito", "Wang," "Hans", "Pierre") and a veritable shipload of assumptions and lazy stereotypes.
It was funny at first, but it ultimately comes at the expense of real discussion. Even using a memeflag is no escape because you'll be accused of being a Canadian or whatever.
