Maybe if this where the turn of the 20th century. Now we are all "diplomatic"
They need to do that in less than a week otherwise it's in effect a defeat.
What is the rest of the world afraid of?
Why don't we recognise Taiwan as a sovereign nation just to fuck up China's shit?
Taiwan has a national identity now, they are more than just non-commie China
They can only invade at certain times of the year the Taiwan straight is treacherous. Also the ENTIRE world would jazz their pants at the opportunity to go to war and crush the CCP.
the CCP will NEVER TAKE OVER TAIWAN.
The Chicoms don't want to annex a smoking crater.
other countries I dont know, but Australia is turbochinked
The Chinese wouldn't want to start WW3 you dumbfuck.
thing is that all shipping to japan and south korea has to pass through those straits. other than that I doubt the US would give a fuck about taiwan.
Russia got away with a similar move. We wouldnt stop them.
It makes me sick to watch all our politicians/media/military fawn over the king chink when he visits to jew us on a new "free trade deal".
So Russia invaded a nation with US military bases and an international hub for IT and business?
they could pull the shit they did in Korea and create a "volunteer" army
the second china steps into taiwan, island chinks will cry to nato and UN and since most of the electronic shit is made in taiwan, we'll end up in fucking ww3
Amphibious invasions are really difficult. I doubt China has the capacity to pull it off, never mind the diplomatic consequences
They are playing the long game and trying to do the annexation peacefully.
>Taiwan is ethnically Han Chinese - same as mainland so uniting peacefully is not a problem
>violence and death would result in anti-Beijing gorilla resistance in Taiwan
>China's neighbours would chimp out in fear and seek protection from USA
>China's economy would take a far bigger hit from sanctions etc. than the addition of Taiwanese economy would generate revenue
It would all in all be a bad move for PRC to invade now, as it would ruin its status among other Asian countries. But make no mistake, in the long run China will need Taiwan. The island has a strategic location from where they could blockade mainland China - an unacceptable position for a upcoming superpower.
but if fucking winnie the pooh was smart he'll fund commies in taiwan and then send """""volunteers"""""" when a uprising starts
give it some time, every day leads closer between a scuffle with USA and China.
The chinks will use the nearest pro US proxy to set an example.
why invade when they will take over without a single shot in a few decades
why does every single thread talking about the The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region get 404'd?

If China invades, the US will slap an oil embargo on them and you'll see the country fall apart within a year.
>China's economy would take a far bigger hit from sanctions etc. than the addition of Taiwanese economy would generate revenue
this is about nationalism and honor tho
Because they aren't an independent state they are the legitimate government of China. By international law, a new state cannot be created on top of an existing state without a treaty to abolish the previous state's existence. This never happened; therefore the mainland is not a valid country but is just an illegal occupation of the Republic of China by communist rebels.
which is the legitimate state of korea?
Real answer: they don’t need to. Taiwan is now economically dependent upon China. Their supply chains are permanently intertwined with the mainland. The KMT has forgotten the war in favor of its practical capitalist elite routes. Remember, these are the wealthy who fled the coastal cities. The native Taiwanese party is pro-independence, but they have lost and the future is clear. Expect Taiwan to accept a Hong Kong style annexation in the next decade.
American aircraft carriers for one.
Nationalism and honor do not come into picture when a superpower is making strategic decisions. Aggressive annexation of Taiwan would be a shit short-term deal for China that would solidify all of Asia against China for the next century.
Don't go imperialist unless you can take on the world.
>Expect Taiwan to accept a Hong Kong style annexation in the next decade.
This seems to be inevitable, but the timeline is uncertain. Could be 5 years, could be 25 years.
Taiwan has it's own ruling class that would resist, and US ruling class is more than happy to intervene.
>annexation
its not annexation if its already china
Chinks have always been shit at war. Taiwan with the help of the US and Japan would beat China.
So why don't we recognize Taiwan as the Republic of China - therefore legally recognizing it as it's own independent state without directly fucking up Communist mainland China?
The issue about Taiwan is partly geopolitical and partly ideological.
The RoC on Taiwan is essentially a democratic Chinese state, with all the stuff (free elections, rule of law etc) you'd expect in a free nation. This completely ruins the CCPs narrative that the Chinese NEEDS an totalitarian government to govern them, and it's why the CCP spergs out everytime Taiwan is mentioned.
Taiwan would never ever agree on a "One country - two systems" deal. Hong Kong agreed on it and the CCP is extending their rule regardless. More like "one country - one system". Everyone on Taiwan stand to lose if the CCP wins. It'd be the end of civil society as the CCP assumes complete control, mass surveillance state, social credit system, purging of anyone who dissents against the CCP.
If push comes to shove, Taiwan would fight. They'd lose in a 1vs1 fight without American aid, but they'll go down kicking, biting and screaming, killing every damn commie that they can manage.
Same reason that the US hasn't openly invaded Cuba. The (((powers that be))) like to keep a stronghold of opposing ideology just off the shore of each superpower to rattle the people's cages with.
hi vlad!
You sound like a CCP-shill.
There would be massive demonstrations and outright revolution if the Taiwanese government tried to surrender to the CCP. The people on Taiwan have absolutely nothing to earn from becoming slaves under communist rule.
china wins by waiting
Because Taiwan has no oil
The US promised not to invade Cuba as one of the compromises that ended the Missile Crisis. Jews don't control the world, they can barely even control Palestine. Get a grip.
Never get involved in a land war in Asia.
Air & naval support by the US & Japan would be sufficient to hold against the red tide. Taiwan could mobilise 1.5 million men if provided enough time.
>What is China so afraid of?
>He doesn't remember the 1996 Taiwan Strait Crisis
Big bad China is a paper tiger
America won't get involved for an insignificant island. Let china and japan colonize taipei like it did in the past.
China has the nuclear arsenal, what the fuck does japan and taiwan have? Just barking dogs of JewSA LOL
Chinks do not know what honor is.
>nukes
China can be devastated by conventional weapons only. They are super fragile.

>By international law, a new state cannot be created on top of an existing state without a treaty to abolish the previous state's existence.
This is why there is no real German state.
None. By that reasoning it's still part of Japan.
You do realize that Taiwan is part of China, right?
Protip: Taiwan agrees.
