National Socialism never reached the height of it's ideals. It lost the war, but the ideology itself wasn't defeated because of that. It didn't collapse on itself like Communism did. It was forcefully brought to an end by the capture of Berlin.
Perhaps, if Germany won the war, we would see it's failure as an ideology like we saw with Communism in the USSR, but on the other hand, it could have been successful. Just because Germany lost the war doesn't mean that the ideology would have failed.
