Lowering any amount of illegal immigration is going to lift wage pressure on the lowest tier of American workers. Not only does this help all of them by forcing companies to pay their workers a bit more, it also helps the government AND the economy. Illegal immigrants are more likely to send their wages to other countries, meaning they don't spend their earnings locally (and therefore do not stimulate the economy). Additionally, illegal immigrants are less likely to pay taxes, and higher wages for legal workers translates to more tax income, meaning even you socialists that love government programs have additional funding to look forward to.
There's basically no downside objectively speaking. A wall is a very cheap (5b is a fucking drop in the bucket for the fed) and very effective measure for reducing illegal immigration from the border that pretty much all illegal immigration foot traffic goes through.
